Pizzetta is a small italian cafe that is a few minutes away from South Kensington tube station. Had dinner here with some friends because according to google maps, their food is cheap and they have good reviews. Here’s the deal though, the website prices and the prices in the cafe do not match. In the website linked to google maps, all of their pizza is £2.50 but when you go to the cafe it’s all £3+. I talked to one of the staff about this but he said it’s the website of another Pizzetta branch and that their branch has different prices. Ok then. Another thing people should know is that what you get is only one square slice of pizza, and not the entire thing. I don’t know how authentic it is but the food is good, although portions are small and I had to buy another slice. I wanted to get pasta since they also have it according to the menu in their website but surprise, surprise! they didn’t serve it today and the only the only food they serve at the moment are the pizza slices in the glass display. Maybe they should update their website so that they don’t lead people on. Not sure if I’m coming back, especially if the prices and the menu they have on the website don’t match the one’s they have in the cafe. 2...
Read morePoor taste and experience. Went to have a quick bite while in South Ken, I am unimpressed, pizza is too salty and the dough is mediocre at best. My calzone was undercooked with the mozzarella and tomato inside lukewarm and slimy (clearly pizzas are prepared well in advance or sit unsold for a while before they are lightly reheated in a warm oven), I took 2 other pieces away but not even after 10 mins in the carton they look and taste they have been out a few days already with a shiny glaze of cheap fat on top of them all… The fact that they sell it in squares ( as in Italy ) does nothing to compensate for the off flavours. It is not cheap either 19 quid for 3 slices and a coffee…
2 stars for the ambiance which is nice and welcoming ( albeit when I went there was a loud and annoying Italian man boasting constantly about his business ) as well as the staff who is courteous and nice.
There is much better quality around south Ken and this place does not compare in quality or value for money....
Read moreA nice venue that felt like a unique mix between a cafe and restaurant, but that specifically caters to pizza. The pizza itself was great, if a little expensive per slice, which is how you order here. An ever so slightly limited provision of vegetarian options, more so than expected, but the selection that was available was worth the trip to South Kensington. Great place for pairs, friends and dates, ideally in small groups due to the limited size. The staff were very accommodating for me and the rest...
