Had a HORRIFIC experience here where the waitress atrociously ignored our table’s serious food allergy and worst of all LIED about it
Dined in with two friends and we told our waitress about our friend’s peanut allergy. We asked if the dish she was thinking of ordering had any peanuts and the waitress confidently says no, just sesame. Our food comes out. My friend takes one bite and she immediately realizes there is peanut sauce all over the dish. She rushes to the back to ask the waitress AGAIN if there are peanuts and the waitress insists there are not. My friend doesn’t have time to argue with her and RUSHES OUT to get allergy meds as she feels her throat already closing up.
The waitress then finally takes time of out of her precious night (seemingly more precious than my friend’s life) to ACTUALLY ask the kitchen who confirm that there is indeed peanut sauce in the dish, a task that would have only taken her a mere five seconds to begin with. They give us another order without the sauce which the waitress initially tells us will be free but later tells us she needs to charge us for?! We fight her on this and she concedes. She also tells us she told the kitchen about the allergy but they must have ignored it.
We later go up to the kitchen to discuss the severity of what just happened and they tell US the waitress told THEM that we NEVER told them about the allergy. How absolutely disgusting and careless.
Thank God our friend’s allergy is not severe enough to kill her within seconds because if it had been, things would have been deadly and irreversible.
This place carelessly and recklessly put my friend’s life at risk and when we confronted those involved about it, they were slow to confirm our worst suspicions, laughed at us while we were trying to have a serious conversation, and clearly were not taking a very dangerous situation with any gravity whatsoever. We will never be dining here again and urge those with allergies (or a conscience)...
Read moreI recently visited this shop, and order for Halal sweet chili chicken and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dish. The shop is located in a bustling area and had a cozy atmosphere. The price was reasonable for the location and the quality of the food.
The sweet chili chicken was cooked to perfection with the right amount of spice and sweetness. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the sauce was the perfect accompaniment to the dish. The presentation was also impressive, with the dish being neatly arranged on a plate.
The service I received at the sushi Co shop was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they offered some great recommendations for other dishes to try. The speed of service was also impressive, and I didn't have to wait long for my food to arrive.
Overall, I highly recommend this The sushi Co shop for anyone looking to try some sweet chili chicken in London, and especially Halal food, The quality of the food and service was exceptional, and I'll definitely be coming...
Read moreThe Sushi Co is a small restaurant in Kensington that offers Japanese-style food. I've visited for lunch on a day that didn't seem too busy.
The atmosphere isn't unpleasant, but I also didn't feel all that at home here. I can't point out why exactly, unfortunately. That might be just me, though.
There wasn't too much activity when I visited, so the service was quick, and everyone was friendly and attentive.
As for the food, I've ordered sushi and chicken kazu. The latter one was excellent and very hot when it was served. Unfortunately, the sushi wasn't all that convincing. I liked the balance of rice and salmon, but the rice definitely could've been a tad juicier; it wasn't extremely dry or anything, but it also wasn't great.
Portion sizes were on the smaller side but still reasonable, and the ingredients seemed to be of good quality.
Also, the presentation was really well-executed, especially the sushi "boats" stood out.
Overall, my visit here was alright. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't particularly...
