Highly recommend this place! We chose it after reading the reviews… and I’m so glad we did! The staff are so welcoming and friendly. They actually take the time to chat to you, which is lovely. They helped with our food choices too. The atmosphere is nice, service is excellent, restaurant is very clean and inviting. I had the non vegetarian northern thali and it was AMAZING! Every single bhaji was yummy and plentiful. It all tasted like my mum’s food (from Mumbai), and each dish tasted different, and fresh. I really do not like Indian sweets but I even devoured the gulab jamon! It was not sickly sweet, it was just right! My friend had the chittinaad lamb which was tender and tasty with a lovely thick masala. Honestly I could not find a single fault with our experience tonight. To top it all, there was supari at the end to help us digest the huge amounts of food we ate! Everything is reasonably priced too. We will definitely be back and will tell friends and family to go too. This kind of food is what we expect to find in Harrow and Pinner so it’s a real find to have it in Finchley👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

⭐ Rathinga Restaurant Review⭐ If you’re looking for a place that beautifully blends South Indian flavours with a touch of North, Rathinga is a must-visit! Though it’s primarily a South Indian restaurant, they also serve a nice variety of Punjabi dishes, making it perfect for those who enjoy both cuisines. They have a wide range of options for vegetarians and egg lovers, which makes it a great spot for families with mixed food preferences. The taste, presentation, and freshness were all impressive. Another plus point — the staff can speak Hindi, which is really helpful for senior citizens who prefer communicating comfortably while ordering. Overall, it’s a delightful dining experience — flavourful, friendly, and full of variety. ✅ Highly recommended!

We've used the restaurant for takeaway twice since they took over the North Finchley site, unfortunately it's been disappointing on both occasions. We decided to give them another chance after we thought we just chose wrong and gave them the benefit of the doubt. Sadly we were disappointed again, and won't use Rathiga again. The food was very oily on both occasions. The Rogan Josh on our second takeaway was swimming in oil, and greasy. It was also very hot, just exceptionally spicy, with no flavour, no layers, just heat.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — A South Indian Gem in the Heart of London!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at RATHIGA RESTAURANT, and it was nothing short of a culinary delight. Tucked away in north finchley, this South Indian restaurant offers an authentic experience that hits all the right notes — flavour, warmth, and atmosphere.

Food: The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the South Indian Thali — an absolute must-try! It arrived beautifully presented on a traditional plate, featuring an aromatic selection of dishes and a melt-in-your-mouth payasam to finish. Each item had a distinct flavour profile and was clearly made with care and attention to authenticity.

We also tried their Masala Dosa, which was crisp on the outside and filled with perfectly spiced potato masala. The coconut chutney and tomato chutney that came with it were fresh, vibrant, and paired beautifully.

Service: The service was exceptional — the staff were welcoming, attentive, and happy to explain dishes to guests unfamiliar with South Indian cuisine. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, our food arrived promptly, and the staff regularly checked in to make sure we were comfortable.

Ambience: The ambience was warm and inviting. The interiors were clean, well-lit, and perfect for both casual dining and special occasions.

Final Thoughts: If you're looking for an authentic South Indian experience in London, RATHIGA should be at the top of your list. Great food, genuine hospitality, and a serene atmosphere — it’s everything you could ask for in a...

If you're looking for an unforgettable culinary experience that hits all the right nostalgic notes, this restaurant is a must-visit. The Deviled Lamb was an absolute highlight—bursting with bold, fiery flavors that delivered a truly tongue-tickling experience. It’s the kind of dish that wakes up your palate and leaves you wanting more.

The Salt and Pepper Prawn and Tofu are standout starters—expertly seasoned, perfectly crisp, and a definite must-try whether you're a seafood lover or a vegetarian. These dishes showcase the kitchen's mastery of texture and spice.

One of the most unique and delightful aspects of this place is their Biriyani. Not only is it fragrant and flavorful, but it’s also served in the traditional way—with gravy, raita, and a perfectly cooked egg. This rare attention to detail sets them apart and brings an authentic back-home experience that many restaurants try—but fail—to recreate.

In short, if you're craving comfort food with soul and spice, this place delivers. From starters to mains, every dish tells a story. Highly...
