I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. Ordered their chicken and prawn fried rice costing £15.95. It did not taste like a fried rice - it tasted of egg and turmeric. Had a spoon of it. I normally never make a fuss or return dishes if there is absolutely some way of just eating it. This was so inedible and since it was my main course thought I should politely mention it to the the staff. I asked the main manager if there was a way they could change the dish for me because it’s impossible for me to eat it. But I also specifically asked them not to worry if it’s inconvenient. The lady was rude and asked me “what did you expect it to taste like? It’s our most popular dish. We will have to charge you for the fried rice too.” I still spoke politely and said it’s ok don’t worry. She took the food away. Never once did she apologise or suggest any alternatives. My friends and I just laughed it off and didn’t let it ruin our evening. But I pretty much sat there the whole time with no food. Later the lady came back with the bill - spoke to my friends without once looking at me and said she is charging me for the fried rice. I didn’t say a word, just paid the bill.
Additionally the prawns on toast were mushy - not crispy. The food is extremely overpriced.
When I asked for a second jasmine tea they came back pouring hot water into the same pot with the old tea bag from the first jasmine tea.
So yeah overall, quite a surprisingly sad experience because I had big expectations from this place. This is the first time I’m making an effort to write a negative review because that’s how bad the customer service was. Not only was the customer service bad, the lady was...
Read moreOne of the best Thai places I have tried in the UK! The most authentic flavours.
Upon entering this lovely place has a bit of an odd light damp smell, which I think might be coming from the Aircon. But it isn't strong so it didn't bother us a lot. Prices are good as the portions you get are actually massive.
As our Thai Milk tea arrived, we straight away could judge that it is exactly what it supposed to be. Simple perfection! Pad Thai was incredible as well, the smell and the flavour teleported me back to Thailand, make sure to ask for chilli flakes and peanuts to enhance the experience. As it isn't served straight away to avoid putting clients who have allergies in danger.
Chicken was really tasty, and the coconut rice was lovely as well. I will definitely be back for more. We didn't check the deserts but I really hope they will do mango sticky rice if they don't already, as I would love to have some 🤤 Definitely recommend.
P.S. Hopefully the odd damp smell will be removed in the...
Read moreI walk past a lot of local restaurants without going in, because they're dimly lit and not that inviting - so recently I've been going in and trying them instead.
The sign outside advertising their Thai iced tea was what drew me in - I ordered a glass, and the lunchtime deal of a starter and a main.
I chose pepper squid - delicate and soft, not rubbery at all - and covered in a crisp batter. Delicious.
For a main, I had the usual green curry - I chose with chicken, although a vegetarian version is also available. Green curries always seem to have variations; this one had courgettes rather than aubergines, and sliced bamboo with green peppers. I may have noticed some sliced lotus flower in there, too. The result was a green curry with less aniseed background, but it was light and sweet, with a gentle sour note in the background - very refreshing. The jasmine rice was perfect.
The Thai iced tea was so good - it reminded me a bit of Ribena; sweet, with a slight citrus burst. I...
