It’s a real shame to write this, especially after having consistently excellent experiences with Rogue Sarnies until now. Unfortunately, our visit today (our first to the new location) was deeply disappointing on multiple levels.

The space itself felt oddly empty and lacked the warmth and buzz we’d come to love from the old courtyard. Despite there only being around a handful of other customers, we waited over 45 mins for our food. After multiple check-ins, we were finally told (over 40 mins in) that our order hadn’t actually printed. Then, rather than acknowledging the mistake or offering any kind of apology or gesture to make up for the delay, the response was decidedly defensive and dismissive.

We were snapped at for following up, as though we were being unreasonable for checking where our food was, while countless others were rapidly coming and going. It really felt like some of the staff didn’t want to be there today, with a bizarre unwillingness to accept any responsibility for what had clearly gone wrong.

Ultimately — whether it was the saltiness we received at the counter that ruined the sarnies, or simply a drop off in quality, the food didn’t hit the spot like it used to.

It’s incredibly disappointing to see such a noticeable drop in food, atmosphere, and service from a place that once delivered so consistently and spectacularly. Mistakes and teething issues will happen, but it’s how they’re handled that matters. Sadly, there was no effort to make things right, and we left really frustrated and let down.

Such a shame that the sarnies, setting and staff felt totally soulless! Fingers crossed things...

"Unbelievable Jeff!" Stellar sandwiches made by lovely blokes.

These blew my socks off after a 20 min scenic trip home in the basket of a boris bike, buffeted by January chill, so just imagine what they're like fresh out of the wood-fired pizza oven. Yeah, that's right, the wood-fired pizza oven in which they lovingly toast these beauties.

There simply weren't any missed steps here (yes I tried every sandwich I could get my hands on), though the provision of parsley to ameliorate the lasting notes of that I-would-bathe-in-this-quality garlic sauce for the less hardy among us might go down well. For me the number one sando was either the 2 min turkish or the three little pigs. I suspect it might be something to do with the outrageous red pepper relish liberally applied to both, which I can only presume will soon be the subject of a barrage of public information requests to add to my self-debasing grovels via the appropriate medium of instagram DMs.

While they let their banging food do the talking, it would be remiss not to mention that alongside their excellent taste in meat submarines, they also have excellent taste in meat nub machines, proudly displaying their 19th century deli slicer at the front of the shop in a polished display of craft and discernment - those who know, know.

In short: These sarnies are worth travelling for, and I bet once you've been once,...

What hipster nonsense is this? I came to grab a quick sandwich while my family went to Gregg's or something. Found it down a dirty alley. Went in and there was no welcome just some monitors with a QR code to order. Begrudgingly I scanned it and was taken to a website. Luckily I already knew I wanted a beef dip so found it and added it to the basket. Went to the checkout and it asked me what time slot I wanted. What? I want it now. Chose ASAP which is appended with (12-22 minutes) - to make a sandwich? I just want a quick sarnie to walk with. Then to payment, they wanted me to fill in first name, last name, address, postcode bank card number, expiry, CVC. No google pay option I could see to fill all that in for me. Why am I wasting my time with this? I just want to go in, ask someone for a beef sandwich, tap my card or phone and have it prepared in a reasonable amount of time. I could not be bothered with all this rigamarole, so I left. What a terrible customer experience. Surely it should be as easy as possible to order and give your money away. The sandwiches could be amazing, but I'll...

Well colour me slightly disappointed - I've wanted to try this place for the longest time and having just spent the morning at the Vagina Museum up the road, I'd worked up the appetite for something juicy, meaty and satisfying. Pre-ordering seems to be advisable to ensure you get what you want as they can sell out quickly and the queues spilling out onto the street let you know this place is popular. We went for the Lord Nelson and the chicken sandwich. The Lord Nelson was probably the pick of the two - but both lacked anything really special. Flavours were ok, but many of the listed ingredients were indistinguishable from eachother. Mine was supposed to have cheese in it but I can't say I found much evidence of it on the palate. The bread, which I guess is a major selling point of the sandwiches, lacks any wow factor and too thin and soft - it doesn't provide enough structure to carry the fillings. They're ok, but at £11-12 - there is far better value to be had.

Queues are not that bad, we've pre ordered and collected in around 10 minutes each time. Both Friday and Saturday lunch. So far, have tried: 3 Little Pigs, Not a Reuben, Mexican Fungi, and Messy Birria. The sandwich descriptions are awesome and I had high hopes with all the hype - and with smoked cheese and all that spicy goodness and marinated meats, I'm always surprised that rarely any of those ingredients sing loudly, often lacking strong flavour. However, it's a decent sandwich as far as London goes. Definitely expensive but not out of line with other trendy sandwich shops. The portion is definitely okay as well, it'll keep you full but isn't overly excessive. The bread is not my favourite - it does its job of holding the toppings together, but it's not something I actively look towards like Dusty Knuckle focaccia. Best was the 3 Little Pigs and the Mexican Fungi was good too. Was disappointed with the lack of flavour on the birria, surprisingly.
