I love Rosa! I used to live in Shoreditch and go to original Rosaās cafe near BrickLane well before it got very popular and spread across London. But after few years living in SW London I was so happy to find a more local Rosaās Thai kitchen in Tooting. My favourite green curry with rice and spring rolls was still on the menu! It was Motherās Day Sunday and I decided to treat myself and get a take away from there as my youngest one unfortunately had to stay in the nearby hospital for that weekend. I didnāt want to sit in, just get my favourite food and go as he wasnāt feeling at his best. Just before entering the cafe, I noticed a large sandwich board with an advertisement on that said motherās get treated to a free glass of bubbly or bubble tea on Motherās Day Sunday. That sounded like a nice touch especially that we have been in the hospital and the weather outside was dreadful on that day. I placed my order for take away and asked for my bubble tea but was refused it as I wasnāt dining in! What a silly rule - celebrating only those motherās on Motherās Day who choose to dine in!? What is the difference? Iām still a Mum whether I sit in your cafe or take your food away to eat it elsewhere. If you decide to treat Mums on a Motherās Day with a free drink then make it equal for everyone so all Mums feel special (no matter where they choose to eat your food!)
This experience left me with bitter sweet feelings so I wish you all the best Rosaās Thai Kitchen in Tooting but I most likely wonāt be coming back to dine in or to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreš“š - Earlier this evening I Enjoyed a Delicious Thai Meal at Rosa's Thai In Tooting. This Was My First Time eating at a Rosa's Thai and It Was Extremely Delicious šš.
I Thought I would "Treat Myself" whilst Out, for my Now Monthly After Therapy Session Dining Out! I looked for Places Nearby and Rosa's Came Up on Google Maps with a 4.7 Star Rating and with Recent Glowing Reviews, My Decision Was Made....... It's been AGES, TOO LONG since I had a Thai Meal..... I Wasn't Disappointed!
I had Thai Prawn Crackers to Appetizer On, Followed by Sweetcorn Fritters for my Starter. I then had Rosa's Thai Style Fried Rice with Chicken. I was Eager to "Complete" my Meal so I had Thai Churros with Condensed Milk. This was Washed down with Coca-Cola Original and Tap Water.........
The Verdict........ Absolutely Delicious š the BEST if Not One of the Best Thai Meals I've Had! ššš.
I had my Usual Thai Dishes (Sans Dessert which was New for Me with the Condensed Milk) and Rosa's Really Pushed Out the Flavour and Sweetness with both the Sweetcorn Fritters and Fried Rice..... I LOVED IT.
..... In Fact I WILL BE BACK NEXT MONTH to try Some of the Other Dishes š. Those Glowing Reviews Were Not Fake!
Although It's a Chain it Didn't Feel Like It, Go and Check out a Rosa's Near You .... until Next...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA disappointing experience.
I travelled out of my way, to try their pad Thai as my friend lives nearby and said it was good.
I order pad Thai at least twice a week, from approx 5-6 restaurants around London.
Unfortunately the takeaway order I placed, the portion was very small. It did not fill the container. I am a female who doesnāt eat large portions, and I will now need to find something else for dinner tonight. It was about 1/3 less than you would get at any other Thai restaurant (I typically order in Clapham, Chelsea, Balham areas) and it cost Ā£2-3 more than other restaurants I go to.
The food was fresh but did not have very varied ingredients. There were not many prawns in it.
When I addressed the portion sizes and explained I regularly order pad Thai from London restaurants, I felt really dismissed by the staff. They said they would pass along the feedback but that they donāt get complaints about portion sizes. I felt really undervalued as a customer at their response. They clearly didnāt take it seriously and thatās really disappointing. It kind of just makes the whole experience worse. If you are looking for good Thai food, maybe try another local restaurant. There are a couple nearby with better...
