Roxie Steak - Wimbledon — Restaurant in London

We looked forward to coming to Roxie but yesterday was a bit bizarre and disappointing. Our waiter (a male) was very abrupt and impatient to take our orders even though we hadn’t been sat down even 5 minutes. When he took our food order he suggested I take the sweet potato fries which I happily accepted without a fuss. I ended up not receiving this. We also ordered our steaks medium. His Argentinian burger came rare with the steak, and mine was very well done. My steak also came in 3 very small bits of steak that looked like leftover bits of meat chucked on a grill, I always get the same steak and this time it was very small compared to what is served usually. The standard chips that came were stale and felt reheated. My peppercorn sauce also didnt arrive for the steak until i chased it up with another lady who I think may have been a manager. Usually we speak up but this was our first time out without our baby ever and the waiter seemed a bit awkward and tense to speak to anyway throughout our experience with him so we didnt want to debate as so much was going wrong. They also seemed rushed off their feet which I empathise with but it was really disappointing for us to then have a low quality meal. Also to then wait around for an amended order was too much as we were on a tight schedule and couldnt stay out long with the baby/childcare being on very limited time anyway. We’re really disappointed and wish we could have had a better experience as this is the only time we will be able to go out together for a while and was pricey considering the lack quality...

Roxie’s is a modern steakhouse with a great vibe as soon as you walk in. The atmosphere is lively but not overwhelming, with a stylish interior that makes it feel both casual and classy. Even the bathrooms were spotless and well designed – something I always notice and appreciate.

The food was the real star of the evening. I went for the ribs, and they were hands down the best I’ve ever had – tender, juicy, and falling off the bone. Every bite was full of flavour and cooked perfectly. I also tried the truffle mac and cheese, which was rich and indulgent, though personally I found the truffle flavour a little too strong for my taste. Still, it’s clear they put quality into every dish.

Prices can lean towards the higher side, but the standard of food absolutely matches the cost. That said, Roxie’s offers some brilliant weekly deals that make it even better value – Tuesday’s ribs and chips for £15.50 is a steal for the quality you get, and Wednesday’s burger deal (£16) is another great option.

Overall, Roxie’s Steakhouse offers an unbeatable combination of atmosphere, quality, and taste. The vibe is modern, the food is outstanding, and while not the cheapest, the deals make it very accessible for such high-quality dining. Without question, this was one of the best meals I’ve ever had, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who loves great steakhouse food...

Good location and great atmosphere. Menu is extensive and very beef based, which is great as I love my steaks. Unfortunately I love my steak very blue (or black & blue) and they just don't cater for me. I passed on the steak and went for a burger. This was an even bigger mistake as they only do this medium and to me it was well done and also very small. Hardly any fries and to be honest a very average experience overall. Others in the group found the steak very nicely cooked so if you like your steaks medium or well done, then maybe this is the place for you. There are better steak restaurants nearby if you like medium rare or less. A pity as any decent steak restaurant should be able to cater for blue as it's probably the easiest steak to cook.... obviously.....all you need is quality meat, expertise and the right instruments. All of these qualities seemed lacking here. Can't recommend this one unless you are willing to compromise on what you eat and go for the Asian salad or chicken. A missed...
