Poor service, waitress swore at my young children, manager lacks the skills needed to lead.

I have been coming to this Wagamama branch for over 2 years regularly and have eaten at Wagamama in general for years.

Recently, this brach has gone downhill in all areas.

In my recent visit with my family, the service was utterly terrible.

The waitress told us we had to give her the dish numbers rather than reading the dishes which I find odd. The waiter or waitress should learn the menu, not take numbers like a robot. She didn't read back the order because it was simply numbers and one dish was missed off. When I asked another staff member, they went off and did nothing about it.

Another waitress came over to the table and went to put down two dishes of squid. We told her it isn't for us. She questioned us as if we had made a mistake and was very rude about it. We hadn't ordered squid because all on our table are vegan. She then swore in front of two young children.

I general the staff abruptly put the plates on the table with no polite warning and a couple of times my daughter could have quite easily knocked into them when they were doing it. Trying to get attention from anyone was almost impossible without getting up and walking up to someone.

I told the manager about all of the above and informed him the staff service is diabolical. He acknowledged they had a staff problem and said they are trying their best.

Unfortunately for a chain restaurant where you go for consistency, this is not good enough.

He offered one main cost as a discount. In my opinion this is not good enough considering the amount we have spent here and in Wagamama in general.

This restaurant seriously needs senior management to intervene and take action. It gives the brand a terrible name.

The energy is really bad. The attitudes of the staff and manager are bad. You can tell experience is lacking. You can tell morale is down.

Until this improves, I will certainly be...

It was apparent very quickly that things were not right when we came a few weeks ago for my wife's birthday. The queue ran onto the pavement and my guess is that we waited at least 15 mins before we got close to the front door. Eventually a member of staff told us we'd be waiting at least 20 mins before we could be seated. I set my stopwatch and it was another 44 mins before we were seated. It was at least a further 15 mins before the server came to ask what we'd like to order. The food came in a timely fashion but we could see our drinks were sat on the bar for a good half an hour before they were delivered. I saw some customers walk over and collect their drinks themselves. My wife wouldn’t let me!! The staff were doing their best but they were completely and utterly rushed off their feet. Everywhere we looked we saw empty tables filled with dirty plates and glasses. It was terrible. I have never seen anything like this in my life. When we paid at the end the manager apologised and said it's like this every single evening and it's been like this for three months or possibly longer. She needs support. Normally we eat at Wandsworth Wagamama but chose Wimbledon Wagamama for a change but I can tell you that this kind of issue never happens in Wandsworth. Wagamama needs to sort this issue out as a matter of urgency. It is so deeply damaging to your brand. I love Wagamama. I believe in you and have done since the early 1990's but I will not be returning to the Wimbledon restaurant ever again. I'm warning you and I strongly recommend you listen. Sort this staffing issue out at Wimbledon before word spreads and your brand is damaged irreparably. PS. I sent an email to Wagamama Head Office outlining all the above and their response? Tumbleweed. They didn't even have the decency to reply to a loyal customer....

Simply put, this was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had to endure. Don't get me wrong, I love Wagamama and I've been eating there for over eight years, however the food I had earlier tonight was terrible, especially for the standards they had previously set for themselves with me. I ordered my usual chicken and prawn yaki soba, which arrived in quite good time. While eating it, I realised that the noodles were significantly less flavoursome than previous times, however considering the quality of all the previous visits, I just passed it off as my taste buds as I was quite tired. When my mother's salad arrived, it was simply unfinished. The mushrooms that were supposed to be in there were not, and there was absolutely no dressing. To sum it up my mother explained that she "could make a better salad at home." Upon telling our server, she got her manager in good time and my mother decided to order a different dish, as she did not wish to endure the same flavourless food that she had just tasted. When her new dish arrived, she was quick to point out that it too was missing flavour and was definitely missing salt, which convinced me that my taste buds were indeed fine but the food was not. When our bill arrived at the end of our meal, we were greeted by the same regular prices for a noticeable lack in quality, and not even a sincere apology for our substandard dishes. I am going to visit this restaurant some more times in the future, and I am determined to discover whether this was a one-off instance, or the beginning of...

The picture of my cod ramen was as blurry as the sub standard service I received from this branch of Wagamama. Was dissapointed at the lack of finesse of serving staff who 1. kept you waiting at the front door without even acknowledging your existence for a minute or two, so I went to the toilet, they seemed 'busy' (but weren't). And upon my return to the front door waiting to be acknowledged again to be seated, I was met with a lukewarm half greeting. 2. Took a while to order and after I did 3. This is the important bit... The Waitress came round with my water and tea not only spilling it on the table but I saw how she ruthlessly and with total lack of awareness: carried the tea with her fingers gripping over the top rim - HYGIENE ALERT !! This is a huge NO - NO! In food & beverage Service Standards because servers can contaminate drinking vessels where customers put lips against rim after where staff have pawed it with their grubby fingers working all over the restaurant. The F&B Hygiene rule of thumb (no pun intended!) is that server's should only hold drinking vessels 1/3 below the rim so customers lips don't come in contact with where servers touch/hold. (I was trained in bar service working in pubs and hotels to fund my uni.) Didn't fancy putting my lips where the server had her fingers all over the rim of cup- I ordered another tea. I love wagamama. The branches in Covent Gdn and Southbank are my main go-to. The teams in Central London are more attentive, friendly and service is more polished. Wimbledon was disappointing to say the least.

Visited Wagamana yesterday (29/04/23) & had chilli squid with chilli & coriander dipping sauce, which was tender & delicious. Also chose Teppanyaki - chicken & prawn yaki soba (sizzling noodles from the grill with crispy vegetables (white onions, spring onions, crispy fried onions, peppers, bean sprouts, egg, pickled ginger & sesame seeds) see photo below), highly recommend. Finished off with banana Katsu (crispy coated banana in panko breadcrumbs) with miso caramel ice cream & toffee sauce; sumptuously delicious. To drink, had Lucky Buddha Beer however was disappointed it no longer comes in charming green Buddha bottle, although understand change probably due to environmental issues. Visit Wagamama quite often for treats out & although each of our meals were delicious, unfortunately the side we usually have (chilli squid with chilli & coriander dipping sauce), was quite tough. Usually it's beautifully tender & delicious, although not on 12/08/21. However, both Raisukaree (with King Prawn) & Teriyaki Soba (with Sirloin Steak) was super, thank you.

Alas this establishment has gone downhill! Used to be good back in the day. We went there a couple of weeks back, the waitress was friendly but the waiter in glasses was looking at me strangely like I had something on my face. The bao buns were great but the Vegan Chicken Coconut curry was atrocious, the pieces of vegan chicken were so chewy, worse than chewing rubber. Just overcooked and inedible. However the icing on the cake was a recent takeaway order - requested the Tofu sambal stir fry as I don’t eat meat, but got given Chicken instead!! Absolutely atrocious and a complete lack of detail which has put me off ordering there or dining there ever again!!
