I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant during the vibrant Notting Hill Carnival festival, and I must say, the experience left a lasting impression. The food, in particular, was a highlight of our visit. The spicy Koobideh, in particular, stood out with its tantalizing blend of flavors that left my taste buds dancing with delight. The portions were generously sized, reflecting the authentic Persian style of dining, ensuring that even the heartiest of appetites would leave me fully satisfied.

Despite the bustling atmosphere and every table occupied due to the festival, the service was nothing short of exceptional. The staff demonstrated remarkable efficiency, ensuring that we were attended to promptly and with a genuine warmth that made us feel truly welcome. They even managed to provide takeout service without compromising on quality or timeliness, a feat not to be underestimated given the festival's demands.

However, there was one minor disappointment during our visit - the baklava. I had high hopes for this traditional dessert, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. Its taste and texture were decidedly below average, which was surprising given the overall quality of the meal. It was the only blemish in an otherwise delightful dining experience.

In conclusion, this restaurant offers a memorable dining experience, especially during special events like the Notting Hill Carnival. The delicious food, ample portions, and impeccable service make it a top choice for anyone seeking authentic Persian cuisine. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a taste of Persia in the...

Sadaf Persian Restaurant in London is a delightful spot for anyone craving authentic Persian flavors and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Located in Westbourne Grove, this restaurant is well-known for its dedication to traditional Persian cuisine, with dishes that bring out the rich, aromatic spices and herbs characteristic of Persian cooking.

One of the highlights of dining at Sadaf is the variety and freshness of the dishes. The menu offers a range of options, from classic kebabs and stews to vegetarian-friendly choices. The koobideh kebab, made with tender minced lamb, is perfectly seasoned and juicy, while the fesenjan stew—a rich pomegranate and walnut sauce with chicken—has a complex, slightly sweet flavor that’s hard to resist. Their saffron rice is fluffy and fragrant, and sides like the mast-o-khiar (yogurt with cucumber and mint) make for the perfect accompaniment.

The ambiance at Sadaf is warm and comfortable, with simple yet elegant decor that adds a touch of Persian charm. The staff is attentive and friendly, making sure each guest feels welcome and well taken care of. They’re also more than happy to explain any dishes or recommend options, which adds a personal touch to the experience.

For a taste of authentic Persian food in London, Sadaf offers a memorable dining experience. The quality of the food, the generous portions, and the attentive service make it a fantastic choice for both newcomers to Persian cuisine and those who already love it. Whether for a cozy meal with friends or a special celebration, Sadaf is a hidden gem that captures the heart of Persian...

If you’re in Westbourne Grove and craving Persian food, Sadaf is an absolute must-visit. This spot combines a warm, traditional atmosphere with incredibly flavorful food that will transport your taste buds straight to the heart of Iran.

The menu at Sadaf offers a wonderful variety of Persian dishes, from succulent kebabs to fragrant rice and flavorful stews. Their Kabab Koobideh is a standout—perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, juicy and tender with every bite.

The service is just as wonderful as the food. The staff are attentive, friendly, and more than happy to make recommendations or explain anything on the menu. You never feel rushed, and there’s a genuine sense of hospitality that makes the experience even more enjoyable.

One thing to note is that the restaurant can get busy, especially during peak hours, so it’s worth booking in advance to secure a table. But whether you’re dining with friends or having a quiet meal for two, Sadaf offers an authentic Persian dining experience that’s hard to beat in Westbourne Grove.

Don’t forget to try the their starters alongside their freshly baked naan; Kashk Bademjoon and Salad Olivier (Russian Salad) is...

Walked by and decided to try it out on whim for dinner, mostly because it looked like a good mix of folks in the restaurant. Loved the decor, great service - especially from Dilman (not sure if we got his name right) who was super friendly and jovial. But most importantly the food... Gosh. It was 'stupid good' - we couldn't stop eating even after we had our fill. We got the Kabab Soltani - so so good. Tender, flavourful meat and the rice was fluffy and so tasty. We also got the weekend special of Baghali Polo - lamb shank with dill rice. Super tender lamb meat but gosh the rice was the star. Try it with the sticky sauce in the bottle on the table for an extra dimension of flavour. We tried their Special naan with sesame seeds - made fresh in the restaurant in the cool bread oven next to the front door, loved it. Especially with the warm appetiser of Mirza Ghasemi - an aubergine dip. Finished off with some hot mint tea. All in all, one of the best meals we've had in London. Would definitely return and tell friends to visit. A great, great meal. Can't wait to return.

Absolute gem of a find. Delicious food, huge portions, reasonably priced. Awesome service and ambience. I read other reviews before going and they did not exaggerate: even their recommendations are spot on. We tried both the normal naan and special naan. Definitely go for the special. Hummus was good. We had the spicy kubideh with rice (it was spicy 🌶️ for western palate, I’d say) and the weekend special - baghali polo (lamb shank on bed of dill rice) - which was nothing short of a revelation. Mint tea was good too. Will definitely come back to try other items on the menu and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to others. Update 18 March 2023: tried the Jujeh Kabab Bakhtiari and Sadaf Mumtaz. Both totally recommended too. 10 April 2023: mixed grill for two (probably better described for FOUR 😆). Absolutely no complaints. I dislike lamb as a rule but I could’ve finished all five lamb chops if I had space in my tummy! Seriously good stuff.
