Overall: Decent Food, TERRIBLE Service even by Caribbean restaurant standards.
Food: ordered Jerk pork, rice and peas, and Mac n cheese. The food was decent apart from the Mac n cheese which tasted like it had been cooked days before and was extremely stodgy. Jerk pork was excellent and something I canāt fault them for.
Service: the restaurant is very narrow with chairs crammed in tightly to each other. So as not to block the gangway 3 of us sat across two tables. We were told very rudely to use one table only despite the restaurant being empty. After this exchange, after a long wait our food arrived lukewarm and was rudely slammed down by the waitress. Any further requests for drinks, tissues etc were met with an extremely dismissive tone afterwards.
Also note, there is a hidden up charge for sitting in the restaurant. A meal (main + side + drink) that would cost around Ā£15-20 as a takeaway costs around Ā£30+ - this wasnāt mentioned on the menu or anywhere around the restaurant and felt like a scam.
Itās a shame their in person service is so unwelcoming as Iāve been ordering takeaways from them for the last 3+ years however after this experience. Itās no surprise business is booming next door when this is level of contempt they treat their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to Savannah, and honestly there food is good, but just disappointed I went to the resturant and the guy at the till/ who Iām guessing is the owner, touched my dumplings and acke and salt fish with his bare hands no gloves, and hadnāt washed his hands. Now Itās my preference that if you touch my food Atleast where gloves. He could have used gloves and a spoon to put the acke in, he didnāt need to touch it. Like I wish them well, and hope they prosper, but how can you touch the food with bare hands no gloves? Atleast wash your hands. So I turned down their food and I can see the woman in the kitchen was getting upset because I was indecisive whether to get it or not. But itās Corona, so who would want to eat food that someone has touched and not even washed their hands. And they were touching so much stuff. Itās basic hygiene. Iām just concerned after that on the levels Of hygiene. And the owner didnāt seem fussed, he was like what you donāt see donāt matter. Ok thatās it Iām ok. That type of outlook explains why I probably wouldnāt order...

I stopped eating here about a year ago when I ordered a festival but was served something which could have easily been mistaken for a brick rather than food. However I was convinced to give them another try as apparently they had stepped it up a gear. But this wasnāt the case. The service was okay, I waited a while before being acknowledged but the staff were friendly. However, the same cannot be said about the food. I ordered a chicken soup, Oxtail with Rice & Peas and a fried dumpling. Letās start with the soup. It was so watery it felt like I was drinking a bowl of Evian with food in it. It had been watered down so much that it completely lacked flavour and I hardly got any chicken in it. Really disappointed. The Oxtail was a letdown too. It was very salty and consisted of mainly bones, which would have required the Evian soup to balance it out. The fried dumpling was the only thing we enjoyed. Overall very disappointing experience once again. We need...
