30.7.23 How I love dining at Sea Garden Y Grill on Tooting Broadway: eating seated in a covered market stall makes it feel like eating al fresco in a busy alleyway so there's always something to catch your eye; the seafood and fish are excellent, and the friendly two chefs prepare them with great talent, everything is DELICIOUS, and served with a smile, they are good people we always have a wonderful time there. Plus after eating there I always wake up in an exceptionally good mood. Thanks to all involved, we´ll be back, love Catherine 28.5.23 It´s always such a joy to eat in Sea Garden & Grill in Tooting Broadway market. The staff are fabulously friendly, the ambiance amusing and the sea food excellent, in fact the whitebait were so good that we ordered a portion both to start and to end with. They make the perfect dessert for those without a sweetooth I assure you! The prawns on bread, the tuna tartar, the anchovies & the chips are also delicious and we´re already planning our next visit south of the river. Thanks a million to all involved, we had a top time yesterday. love Catherine
4.3.2023 Sensation service, brilliant buzzing atmosphere created not only by the market environment, but also by the fabulously fresh seafood lovingly and wonderfully prepared by excellent cooks and served inventively that fills ones body with delight, omega 3 goodness and warm. The prawns and the whitebait (especially the whitebait!) make me so happy that I could skip. I recommend Sea Garden and Grill Tooting very very highly,. Try it soon, you won´t be disappointed, I assure you. Thanks to everyone yet again, love Catherine.
18.2.2023 Fabulous fish, sensational seafood, perfectly prepared buy talented people, innovative touches that make so much sense, why wouldn´t you put vinegar powder on chips rather than make them all soggy with liquid and why has no one offered it to me before!, lovely, friendly, helpful and highly efficient service from brilliantly enthusiastic staff and a great informal atmosphere. My husband Andy and I enjoyed ourselves so much that we made a return booking as soon as we got home. I can´t wait to eat the tuna tartar, prawns and whitebait again, but am sure that whatever is on the menu that day it will be delicious and generously...
Read moreIndulging in the delectable offerings of Sea and Grill in Tooting was an experience that left my taste buds dancing with joy. The culinary journey began with starters that were nothing short of exquisite.
🐟 ANCHOVIES - A perfect harmony of flavors greeted us as we savored the Pickled Samphire and Roasted Peppers, beautifully presented at just £5. The tangy richness of the pickled samphire combined with the sweetness of the peppers was a symphony for the senses.
🍤 GRILLED KING PRAWNS - The Marinated King Prawns, delicately kissed by chilli oil, were a revelation. Accompanied by pickled samphire and perched atop a crisp toast, this dish at £12 was a masterful blend of textures and tastes that left us craving for more.
💥 BATTERED FISH - The classic Battered Fish was a sheer delight. At £11, the fish was tender, flaky, and encased in a light and crispy batter that was both satisfying and comforting.
🥩 SURF N TURF - A midweek treat that elevated our dining experience to extraordinary heights! Every bite of the Flat Iron Steak paired with succulent prawns, roasted peppers, and the velvety embrace of the Red Wine Jus at £26.95 was sheer bliss. Wednesdays just got a whole lot more enticing.
The excellence of the dishes was wonderfully complemented by the stellar service we received. Our waitress Leticia was a true gem, catering to our needs with grace and a warm smile. The culinary maestro in the kitchen, whose creations graced our plates, deserves a standing ovation for his artistry. And let's not forget the versatile bar tender, a maestro of mixology and hospitality, who effortlessly juggled multiple roles to perfection.
Sea and Grill in Tooting is a haven for food enthusiasts seeking both impeccable quality and reasonable prices. It's a testament to the fact that exceptional culinary experiences need not come with a hefty price tag. A heartfelt applause to the entire team for creating a symphony of flavors and memories that will linger long after...
Read moreIf zero stars were an option, I would give zero stars. After waiting for 50 minutes since we placed our order, our steak (surf and turf) still hadn't arrived, yet the table next to us, who ordered after us, received their three steaks. When we asked the waitress about our steak, she said they were out of steak and had to buy some, and finally served us a steak which was completely inedible! An hour later, our chips still hadn't arrived, while the other three tables, who ordered after us, had already been served theirs. When we asked the waitress about our chips. she said they were sold out too, but couldn't explain why those who ordered later than us got theirs. In the end, we didn't get any chips, but were still charged for them. The waitress showed no intention to assist us whatsoever.
Also, since I made the reservation at this restaurant through TheFork, they immediately sent me an email via a third-party platform, asking for my credit card information. Before entering my credit card details, I contacted TheFork, and was told the restaurant didn't use their system, so TheFork wouldn't be responsible if anything goes wrong, suggested I should check with the restaurant before entering my credit card details to avoid being scammed. Later, after I entered my card information, the restaurant still sent me multiple emails, almost on daily basis, asking me to enter my credit card information again. I had to send them an email to ask them to stop spamming me, of course the email was ignored and the spamming continued.
Overall, the prawns and the battered fish we were served were nice, however due to the email spamming, the poor service and the lack of food (at 6pm on a weekend), we will definitely not...
