We had heard great things about Vermicelli so decided to try it out. We did arrive quite late on a Saturday evening which may have been part of the problem.
There were 4 of us so we decided to share 4 mains and a couple of starters. We ordered food at 9pm and the starters didn’t arrive until 9:45pm which was the first issue. Whilst the service was incredibly slow the servers were extremely polite and friendly.
The starters were the best part about the meal, we had the arancini and the blue cheese croquettes.
The menu looked amazing so we were extremely excited for the mains. The first pasta dish to arrive was the Gorgonzola Gnocchi, which was extremely bland and tasted as though the sauce was a mix of butter, cream and milk, there definitely wasn’t any Gorgonzola in this dish. We then had the burrata, tomato and pesto pasta dish which had a thumb nail of burrata so we had to ask for more. It tasted like a pesto pasta I would cook at home and I am a terrible cook. We then had the beef shirin ragu. The beef was was cooked perfectly but the dish had no sauce and it felt as though the beef was just dumped in with pasta and it didn’t really go together. The last pasta dish saved the mains a little and that was the seared porcini with truffle pesto.
I don’t usually leave bad reviews but felt like I had to as we were so...

The staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly, and shoutout to Gilgal for making our dining experience so amazing and unforgettable. Despite it being so busy, he was constantly cracking us up all night and helped the waiting time pass by quickly.
Before ordering, make sure to ask for the recommendations as they know best! We decided to go for their Pappardelle with beef shin ragu and the Casarecce with Pistachio Basil pesto, as per their recommendation, and both were perfect. For starters, we also went for their Buffalo Parmigiana and Spicy Prawns in tomato sauce which were both absolutely amazing. Parmigiana di melanzane is something I grew up eating and this one did not disappoint.
Don’t be fooled by the fact the restaurant is in a market, all the more it really gives the place more of a community feel and a relaxed, laidback atmosphere. As well as that, you can probably find some of the most authentic food places hidden in there!
Overall, If you want to try real, proper, fresh italian pasta, and if you’re looking for a great overall dining experience, you cannot miss this place. We can definitely say that...
Read moreCame to eat here after seeing their instagram posts of their food looking good but was utterly disappointed…. My sister got the casarecce with basil pesto and I got the pumpkin gnocchi as well as the bread basket, no complaints about the bread basket as it was fresh and tasty.
However, the main pasta dishes were the disappointment. The pesto pasta had good flavour but it was undercooked. The pumpkin gnocchi that we had seen photos of had a creamy sauce with it but mine came without and just on its own with a garnish of sage. I didn’t say anything to the chef or waitress as I thought the online photos might have been promotional. However, as we had already paid and were leaving, we saw another customers dish arrive which was also the pumpkin gnocchi and hers looked exactly like the pictures we had seen online of it.
Another thing is that on their instagram they have a post that every Wednesday until 5pm all pasta dishes are £6 but when we got there we found out that the offer is only for the first 3 pastas on the menu, which it did not state in their post.
We will not be...
