Shahbhag Tandoori — Restaurant in London

The BEST restaurant in all of London. We moved to London for the year and stumbled upon this gem on the great Hampstead High Street. Shahbhag is the best in every way. The service is impeccable, they all treat you with respect, bring food promptly, and even remembered our order after coming so many times! The dinning room is clean, with great decoration and music.

The food itself is the best Indian Food we’ve ever had. Start with the Papadums, accompanied by lovely chutney. After that, try a Mango Lassi to drink. For the main, we recommend Paneer Tikka Masala, Sag Paneer, and a side of Aloo Gobi. A perfect blend of sweet coconut, rich flavours, and good spices. (Friends rave about the meat options too!) Finish this off with the best Peshwari Naan and pilau rice.

Staff were not aware of dietary requirements/diets so it was a real pain to order something and when they eventually brought out the dish they made for me, it was plain/boring and very minimal (NOT worth the price of a full main, which is of course what they charged me). They did not serve a side dish we ordered, we had to ask for it as they seemed to have forgotten it: it was then served immediately. However, when we got the bill one additional side was charged which we didn't order and didn't receive so we had to tell them to correct their mistake. Very poor experience.

Shahbag Tandoori is the BEST local "Ruby Murray" (Curry) in London and is a real "Hidden Gem" in the heart of leafy Hampstead.

Really authentic décor with beautiful painted murals, incredibly friendly and attentive service combined with mouthwateringly delicious food - I can highly recommend the Mixed sizzling Tandoori, juicy king prawn shashlik and their stunning Sag Paneer spinach & cheese).

Perfect for a romantic date or a relaxed and fun Indian feast with friends and family - absolutely superb and tremendously good value given the high quality of food and service.
