In April 2022, I had the pleasure of visiting the King William IV pub, and I must say it was a delightful experience. Tucked away in a quaint corner, this pub exuded charm and offered a warm and cozy atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home. The ambience of the pub was truly special, with soft candlelight casting a gentle glow throughout the interior. It created an intimate and inviting setting, perfect for unwinding, engaging conversations, and creating lasting memories. During my visit, the staff at King William IV were friendly and attentive, ensuring that every guest felt welcome and well-cared for. They provided prompt service with a genuine smile, enhancing the overall positive experience. Their hospitality added an extra touch of warmth to my visit, making me feel like a valued guest. While I didn't have the opportunity to experience any specific events or offerings during that particular visit, the pub's overall atmosphere spoke for itself. It was a haven of tranquility and relaxation, allowing me to escape the outside world and immerse myself in its cozy embrace. The King William IV pub is truly a hidden gem, offering an enchanting and cozy candlelit atmosphere. If you're seeking a place to unwind, enjoy meaningful conversations, or simply savor some quiet time, this pub is a perfect choice. During my visit in April 2022, it provided a haven of peace and serenity, leaving me with fond memories of my time spent there. Don't miss the opportunity to experience its unique charm and welcoming ambiance. It's a true delight for those seeking a memorable pub experience.

A colleague and I needed a quick lunch and weren't dressed up enough for the fancy French cafés in Hampstead - although I did put on a shirt - when we found this pub. They serve good pub grub at good prices for London. There didn't seem to be sandwiches or light bites on the menu so we both had fish and chips which were served quickly and were piping hot. Typical London pub with plenty of seating, mostly indoors but a few outdoor tables as well.

The food here is ok, nothing special. Fish and chips were brought out rather quickly, fish was ok but the chips were thin, American style, rather than UK fat chips. Also, the portions aren’t big enough for the price. However, the bar and variety of drinks are quite nice. I think this is a “pub” above all else - I’d come here again just to have a decent drink, without food. The service is friendly, no complaints. Nice, chill atmosphere.

Described as a “Boutique Hotel”||Well I don’t know where to start😂|| The Pub is amazing it’s full of character and of characters a free house serving Directors and London Pride amongst others ||The atmosphere is terrific The walls are adorned by black n white photos of the talented and famous interspaces with black boards displaying amusing quotations ||“Peter Cook I didn’t speak to my mother-in-law for 6 Months I just couldn’t get a word in edgeways”||“Money talks! In Las Vegas it says Goodbye”||The floor boards are old scrubbed wood and the paint on the bits of wall that are not covered with photos are mellow shabby sheik||We stayed on a Saturday night and had gone to a wedding .We arrived back at The Pub at ten pm||It was rammed full of people having a jolly fun time.||Two drag queens were hosting an open Mike singalong .Both talented vocalists, one on the key board was exceptional and everyone was having a real laugh it was very friendly ||They were running a raffle to raise money for the Terrance Higgins Trust It was very entertaining really off the wall ,”One flew over the cuckoos nest on steroids” probably sums it all up||We stayed until it wound up .||I would award it 5 stars except for the London Pride which was past its best but the bar staff were under such huge pressure and the pub so crazy and noisy that I just drank it and didn’t ask for it to be changed ||Now for the hotel bit 😬||On ascending the stairs to our room we were greatly amused to find the performers getting changed out of their drag kit in the corridor .||The stairs and the corridor were shabby sheik ,more shabby than sheik Definitely not boutique standard ||A make over is definitely overdue upstairs for it to be “a boutique “||There are apparently only 4 rooms ,we were late bookers and there was only one twin bedded room left ,It was clean and there was hot water in the bathroom it had a nice old window that you could open to alleviate the sort of musty atmosphere that greeted us when we opened the door It was a miserable day and the room felt cold and clammy .The bed side table lamp was broken although it worked it was too risky to use.||The dimmer switch for the central ceiling lights was worn out and the lights flickered alarmingly ,not really very atmospheric unless you were a seasoned clubber high on drugs . The out look from the window looked out onto adjacent building which was nice and built from old London Stocks, a not unpleasant but limited view over a little quite side street ||The bed was not at first glance very inviting, I actually wanted to get into it in my clothes as the room was so dank but I resisted that temptation ||I had a good nights sleep and it turned out to be more comfortable than it first appeared ||We left early in the morning and had our shower at home as the “on suite bathroom “ was cold and uninviting ||Nine points out of ten for the pub but only 2 out of ten for “The Boutique Hotel “room||Shape up guys and spend some money upstairs it will be well worth the investment or you should drop the boutique pretence.||I would never want to go back to that room sorry I couldn’t give a...

Agree with similar recent reviews - for the right person this is a great place. We were quite happy here, and if it wasn't for the issues with the water (well documented in other reviews) I would have given it a 5. As such I am in the 3.5 - 4 range. Still pretty happy with our choice.||||Why you stay here: Prime location in upscale Hampstead, just a few yards walk from the underground (northern line). Great pub atmosphere down below. "shabby chic" (as previously described) rooms. Actually a fair amount of space. Good interactions with staff. Look out after yourself for the most part. Price, comparatively speaking, is competitive with budget conscious properties in Earls Court, Bloomsbury - Kings X, etc. ||||Not for: Anyone who is looking for a refined "boutique" hotel experience. These rooms are not like the bistros on Hampstead's high street. These are pub rooms above a fun traditional bar - an inn. Music playing possibly till 11, and you will hear it.||||Our room (Adelaide), was charming - but yes there are dings in the trim, chips cracks, wallpaper needs some updating etc. It's an old building. The big caveat and know before you go is the plumbing is real tricky. Sometimes when you turn on the hot water no water comes out of the spigot at all - you have to wait 15 minutes before the water gets primed or whatever - but the end of our 3 night stay we had figured out some tricks to get it to respond. Also the tank for the toilet takes forever to fill up - it won't flush a second time for 10 - 15 minutes. I get it old building and all - but there are lots of old buildings that have functional plumbing. There is an extra toilet right outside the room in the corridor which we used a couple times. But you don't pay for ensuite to leave your room to go to the bathroom.||||Anyway - if you are wiling to fuss with the water issues, then this place is in the right place at the right price point with a great vibe. Give it a try eyes open. I would stay again if in hampstead, but we are cool with this style of...
