Sichuan Grand Restaurant & KTV 成都府 — Restaurant in London

Honestly wasn't impressed. Pretty overpriced and some food wasn't great. Service wise was nothing special but they did their job well and made sure we had everything we wanted just at times they were a bit slow to come to our table but altogether pretty good.

We ordered Sichuan Grand Spare Ribs, Smacked Cucumber with Garlic, Chicken Fried Rice, Dan Dan Noodles, Won Ton Soup, Twice Cooked Fish Slices and Rice Glue Pudding. The Smacked Cucumber with Garlic was tasty and had a nice spice and peanut flavour. It was refreshing and a good way to start the meal. The Sichuan Grand Spare Ribs had a nice crispy batter, were well seasoned. The meat was soft and was presented very nicely. Chicken Fried Rice was nothing special it looked quite different from the photo and did look bland however it was tasty and was what it said on the menu so you can't really complain. The Twice Cooked Fish Slices were delicious in light batter and the favourite part of the meal. The fish was very well cooked and flaky and seasoned very perfectly. The Won Ton Soup was tasty. The won tons were a bit too soft for me and the broth was slightly bland yet still had a slight garlic flavour. The noodles were cooked very well and took a lot of the flavour from the broth which was great. The Dan Dan Noodles weren't great at all unfortunately. The broth was bland and because of this the noodles took on no flavour. The only thing with flavour was the topping of pork mince, which there wasn't much of. It didn't even taste of spice but you did get a spice sensation afterwards. The Rice Glue Pudding wasn't great. Usually - or when I've had it - this dish is served with a syrup but instead it was just in a bowl of warm water. The actual pudding wasn't bad but again, nothing amazing.

In conclusion I would not come here again as for all of this it was around £90, some of the food was bland and some of it was nothing special. Don't get me wrong some.of the food was great but I don't think it was amazing enough to justify the rest of the food and the price.

i have to give it a honest 5 star, complete satisfaction. Stratford has always been a boring place for chinese food but with this newly open restaurant it is a star in stratford, such delicate decoration and culture themed Karaoke rooms. It has become my frequent playground, canteen and gathering place not even within a month of opening! The food there is quality and great service, none of that don't care about you looks.

They do have expensive dishes unfortunately, but if you are going alone ask for soup noodles or fried noodles about 8 quid can fill you up nicely.

I am a beginner in spicy food so below are not so spicy.

Mouth Watering chicken (8.80 GBP)- O.M.G that sesame blended with that fragrant spicy oil is certainly mouth watering, it is presented in a way that it has more spicy ingredient at the bottom. so it is good for people who is new to spicy food to control the level of taste as the chicken is at the top of the baboo shoots.

Sweet Potato Cakes (4.80 GBP) - warm hot crisp outside and squishy inside gives you a really good texture.

3.Sichuan Grand Red Braised Streaky Pork (12.80 GBP)- so filling and balanced between sweetness and saltiness goes really well with rice. 12.80

4.Sweet and sour pork - this is no ordinary sweet and sour, it is an eastern chinese quisine which is perfect for those who don't eat spicy food.

Will try out more dishes and give more recommendations! Keep up the good work...

I arrived soon after the opening time of 11:30 (displayed on their website/Google and on the posted sign) but noted a "We're Closed" sign on the entrance. I walked directly into the staff breakfast but the host immediately stood to get me seated!

I ordered my two favorite Sichuan dishes, Husband & Wife Offal, Fried Fish Filets, and Boiled Beef Slices in Sichuan Peppercorn Sauce. The host laughed a bit and made sure I knew what I was getting into (I do/did), and the food soon followed.

It was so delicious! Both dishes were as good as anything I've had anywhere in the world (to include in China).

My familiarity with Sichuan cuisine clearly amused the host who, after I finished eating, engaged in a delightful conversation about where I first discovered Sichuan food and what I (clearly American) was doing in England.

Overall a fully wholesome, pleasant, and delicious experience! I can't wait to return to try some more of my favorites.

Note: Some reviewers have noted that the restaurant can be hard to find. I agree with this. I would recommend that you navigate to the Theatre Royal Stratford East, and then simply turn right from there while facing the entrance to the theatre.
