Reluctant to even give one star 😑

Had my daughters first birthday party at this place on Sunday 3rd. During the initial meeting we spoke to the owner and arranged for the most expensive package per head. He assured us that we would get a lot of food items. Including a great salad (with red cabbage, rhubarb, fresh tomatoes, lettuce, seeds) and a number of starter items. We were promise the food would be excellent quality.

On the day, my guests were served drinks in a can without glasses! Who serves their guests drinks in a can? I had to ask the owner for glasses and he just ordered his waitress to bring out one or two for people who asked for them. The rest of the guests were left with the cans. This was frankly embarrassing for me as the host.

The starters were served and when I say starters, there was only 1. Falafel with humous. I was extremely disappointed . The salad was just a bowl of old wilted lettuce and tomatoes. It was not fresh and felt like leftovers from another meal. I had to request knives and forks for my guests to eat the starter and was told by the owner, normally knives are not given for the starter in front of my guests. Rude and low standards. Astonishing.

The main meal was served and the grilled chicken pieces were dried out. They were clearly made hours before and then served. The lamb curry was bland and other grilled meats were okay.

The owner was present and was trying his best to hold back on the standard requirements needed to make the service a success. We paid a lot for the party yet did not receive what we had paid for. It really was a joke. 😣

Do not book parties here especially if you are of a different nationality to the owner. They will make empty promises and serve below standard items. The service will also be...

MICE! I came here with the family to have lunch. We were midway through our lunch when my daughter saw mouse running on the floor and she screamed it out. We immediately noticed it as well and told the manager about this problem. The manager told us that he has never seen a mouse and that it may have been a mistake by us. Me and the family saw the mouse and he basically called us liars... This was very upsetting and we decided to leave the place. I have contacted the council about this issue and hopefully they will investigate this further. Please do not eat her it has mice and food may be contaminated! Also the manager lied and isn't trustworthy at all! I didn't finish the meal and still paid for the food. Disgusting cleanliness and very very dissapointed by all of this!

The most delicious lamb sandwich I have had in my life. Every single order was delicious. The falafel, hummus, baba ganoush, the lamb sandwich, and even the fries. I highly highly reccommend this place to anyone. A true taste of the middle east, truly proud as a pakistani muslim to have experienced this culture of food.

But above all, the service is what did it for us. Our waiter was so helpful, engaging and funny. My partner unfortunatsly had tea dropped on her and her food, they came swiftly and helped clean up and made her a new sandwich fresh and did not charge us.

This was so so kind of them, and thank you so much for helping us and making sure our meal was delightful.

All in all, me and my family enjoyed sim sim bakey so much. Will be coming back asap, will reccommend to all family and friends, and even strangers!
