Disappointing First Visit – Wouldn’t Recommend
I visited Skippers in Harrow for the first time yesterday, and unfortunately, it was not a good experience. I was hoping for a decent fish and chip meal, but what I got was far from it.
To start with, the chips were dry and undercooked—they tasted as if they hadn’t been properly prepared at all. I also ordered sausages, but the batter was stale and tasted like it had been sitting around for far too long. The food overall lacked freshness and care.
Worse still was the service. When I went to place my order, the staff didn’t even wait for me to finish before jumping straight to calculating the cost. In doing so, they ended up overcharging me. When I pointed this out, the person serving me refused to acknowledge the mistake and insisted the charge was correct. It wasn’t until a colleague stepped in that they admitted the error—only then was I finally given a refund.
For a first-time customer, this was a really disappointing introduction. The combination of poorly cooked food, unhelpful and money-focused staff, and a lack of basic customer service has left a very negative impression. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend Skippers to anyone looking for a decent Halal...
Read moreReally good food. I purchased the chicken burger from them and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken fillet was perfect and tender whilst had a bit of crispiness to it which topped it off. The burger itself was mighty large and satisfyingly filling. The chips were well-cooked as they were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Together it made a wonderful meal and to top it all off, the staff were really friendly which made the whole atmosphere better. My only gripe was that the furniture was a bit uncomfortable to sit on but that did not take away from the fact that my meal was very lovely and I enjoyed it very much. Will definitely come back here again to try...
Read moreJust not very good. Firstly the shop needs to check its ridiculous prices. A small portion of chips plus 2 sausages for £8? No mate. Chips were greasy and stodgy which is not how well cooked chip shops should be. Compared to the Ideal Fish Bar in Pinner (where chips are light and fluffy and portions huge), these guys really come up short. Plus liberal use of the microwave in the background. I don’t really go to buy freshly cooked food to see it...
