I have previously been to this restaurant and had such an amazing experience from the staff who were welcoming the food and environment everyone was extremely attentive. From my first experience I decided to make a reservation for a special occasion I purposely booked the table during the hours of the special promotion for drinks, so that, my guest could benefit from it.
When I arrived I had asked the waiter which cocktails are in the promotion she responded quite rudely they only offer this during the week Monday to Thursday. I was surprised but went along with it as I presumed she would know best as she works here I thought maybe the website wasn’t updated I mentioned to her I saw this on their website MONDAY TO SUNDAY BETWEEN 5-7 PM X2 COCKTAILS FOR £11.95.
The waiter then came back and said they have checked the website, and within fact, I am correct. Alarming as I would have hoped each staff member would know what promotions they have listed on their company website. She then said if we are having the Two cocktails they need to be the same, and we can’t share the drinks? Again I never questioned this as I know this is not true because I can’t see this rule written anywhere from their websites or menu we respected what she has asked without hesitation.
We never ordered starters and went straight to the mains around 30 minutes after being seated, we made our orders, and the gentlemen who took our orders seemed to extremely flustered and impatient we felt as if we were being rushed to place our orders. I then asked to keep the menu as I may want to order something else his response to me was “I can’t stand here all day to wait and see what else you want to order I have other tables to serve” by that point I was pretty much ready to leave but also taken back by his response shocked whilst sitting there but still keen to enjoy the evening I handed him back the menu.
All 9 orders came out incorrect they then wanted us to take the mains, and then wait for the chips to cook which would mean by the time the side dish comes the meal would be cold, one of the dishes came with a hair in the food which was reported straight away to the manager his response was “All the kitchen staff’s hair is blonde” whilst the Four waiter staff who brought the food to our table had dark hair.
We then asked for all the food to be cancelled because at that point I wouldn’t have wanted to give them £10 towards anything, I was happy to pay for the items of food and drink which we had and wanted to leave the manager then said he was happy re-cook the entire what normal person would have any faith or trust in the restaurant to bring them food again! completely unorganised if they were unable to take such a large booking then they shouldn't have excepted the reservation.
The birthday meal which we had planned at that point was been completely ruined, and we all left extremely upset, not once did the manager accept any blame for what had taken place that evening, when leaving I spoke to another staff member working downstairs who I vented my frustration to, and she was kind enough to listen and offer me a complimentary glass of wine it was at the point the manager apologised
I never in my life would step back to this place even if they were offering free drinks, alcohol gifts or food customer service is key and is extremely important my summary of this place is they have employed incompetent members of staff who do not know their menu or promotions which they have set, Rude when challenged, provides food with hair and does not accept any...
Read moreA huge disappointment. First time here, party of 8 of us for my birthday. Venue is gorgeous, but that's where it ends. Kept waiting a very long time once food was ordered, to the point I had to get up and ask when it was coming and was told by the flustered waiter "it's coming it's coming!". Four of my guests ordered pina colada's - all four of them sent it back saying there was no/ very little rum in it. They topped it up with the missing alcohol! Two of us ordered the dressed crab - we both thought it was just "okay" - nothing special. I had a lemon on the plate with like a net on it. Took the net off to squeeze over the dish and the lemon was dry with mouldy shrivelled skin that looked like it had been at the back of a cupboard for a week. I didn't complain because I was with guests, but it was noticed. Another guest ordered prawns for starters, They were mostly shell with just a load of sauce on top. There was confusion over the prawn/ lobster linguine which most of us ordered. The menu made it confusing. They ended up bringing us extra prawns separately because of it. I ended up with lobster linguine. We could not believe how bland the food was. It was a bowl of pasta with tomato sauce on! It was tasteless, the only give that gave it any seasoning was the pepper on the table. The "lobster' was a rubbery texture that you couldn't taste because it was smothered in this tasteless sauce. There was not even a hint of garlic in it. For £29 that was a joke. We all thought the same, not just me. I could have bought a jar of sauce from the supermarket and made a bowl of that for all of us at home, I've had tastier meals from shop bought sauces than that meal. Our waiter was running around, and trying to get one of my guests to smile, which she found annoying. Someone else found a hair in her meal. He seemed to not know what to do with it, then just took the plate away without saying anything. He then returned and quite patronisingly said "was it an eyelash or something"? She said no it was a long hair. He agreed to take it off the bill. The other staff were very quiet when bringing the food over, almost a whisper, considering music was playing and other people were talking and four of our guests had their backs to them when the food turned up, no one could hear them. We had to pipe up and say "who's ordered xx?" The staff otherwise looked both busy and nonchalant. Busy, but not with us, and almost spaced out as though we didn't exist and we had to keep on waving for their attention. We honestly couldn't believe it. They gave us complimentary shots in the end but by then we were there for way longer than we expected and had had enough. They had lime but didn't even have any salt that you would normally have the shot with, again, we had to ask for it and they, all in their own good time, bought a small bowl of salt over. We didn't pay the £36 service charge they added to the bill. For a group of 8 of us, and we all felt the same, there has got to be something in it. Very stunning restaurant. However I attended here for the first time yesterday and was extremely disappointed. From the moment we entered and got seated upstairs we were not happy. The atmosphere was very dull with no background music which eventually came on about 30mins later. We were not pleasantly welcomed by the staff member allocated to our table. He had a major lack of understanding on the menu and most specifically the bottomless brunch which we opted for. This was quite frustrating as newcomers as we were looking for staff assistance in this time which failed. At this point we said should we go somewhere else but still proceeded to stay to see if things got better and it got worse. The restaurant was NOT busy but the service was extremely slow. As a regular who attends bottomless brunches this was the worst one I have been to. We was also given our bill and payment was requested although we was not offered our desserts which was also part of the £49.95 bottomless brunch. The toast with the avocado on top was over cooked, rock hard. They did change this but then they cut off the crust which I did not request. As I am allergic to salmon and eggs there was not alternative offered as a small gesture which all restaurants I attend offer to meet customer satisfaction.
