Deli Nene Restaurant & Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in London

Came here for a meal yesterday, party of 7 without a booking. From the second we walked in there was jokes and laughter from the barman (didnt catch his name). we were made to feel very welcome. The restaurant was spotless and the decor was on point, Sort of modernly rustic. The atmosphere was warm and homely and we were seated immediately.

And then along came our server Rio. Constantly smiling, well presented, attentive and funny. He was very helpful in explaining their fairly large menu which is sometimes a worry when it comes to quality of food. We ordered many different dishes from across the menu and EVERYTHING was fresh, the various meats were cooked to perfection and exactly how we requested, beautifully presented and the flavours were even better. The food was honestly wonderful.

The prices were very reasonable. The starters and mains were very generous as were the cocktails. Our whole party agreed that it was one of the best dining experiences any of us had had. I really can't say enough to sing their praises.

Thank you guys your whole team should be very proud. The only downside I can think of is I asked for the manliest cocktail they had and I didnt get a single sparkler or pink umbrella in my drink 😆 (inside joke)

My dear followers, the horror storytelling of the spooky season begins. Fancying some poached eggs on toast with avocado - and feeling like characters of horror movies which do not pay attention to red flags - I came to this place even if looked really dark from the inside. The waitress - rigorously dressed in black - took me to a table with a bill on it - so clearly unclean from previous guest - and, suddenly, disappeared. Like magic! Nobody came to set up the table so I took action and grabbed some cutlery from the one close by. Here they come. Eggs clearly boiled. I asked for some poached again waiting for a while. The food doesn’t have any taste at all. Along with the eggs, I ordered a handcrafted green machine which was quite good. At least, witches know how to do their potions. I haven’t been transformed into a frog either! However. No apologies for the inconvenience and/or for the waiting time from the staff. Like if the guests were…ghosts! I ran away shortly after consuming my brunch, giving a happy ending to the spooky...

We ordered a cheese burger and a falafel and halloumi wrap. The cheese burger was in fact a meat kofte (too much spice, although similar ingredients to a burger, it did not resemble one or taste like one). The falafel and halloumi wrap was dry and flavourless. The regular potato side chips were great and crispy. The sweet potato chips were a little undercooked. The homemade coleslaw was ok. The houmous tasted store bought but bland. The peach iced tea was a little too zesty but much better than some other home made iced teas I have tasted. Our food arrived about 20 minutes after we ordered so that was fantastic. We asked for assistance three times to ask for sauce but because there was a lot of talking we were only attended on the fourth call. Overall the food was bland. The service was ok. The atmosphere was loud with lots of talking and we only realised there was music in the background after we paid the bill as it was that loud. The aesthetics are cute though so if you come here for drinks make sure to take a cute picture but...
