I honestly do not understand how this place has a 4.2. I’m actually baffled. I never write reviews but felt the need to after this experience. My friends and I went here and it was BAD. I rate wherever I go based on 4 things. Customer service, price, taste, and portion size for the money. For starters, the customer service was actually insulting. My friends and I have never experienced anything like this before. We walked in and asked for a table and the person that seated us rolled their eyes when they saw us. They asked if we had a reservation which we did not. The place was barely half full and till we left there were still many tables available. So they couldn’t have been mad if they had tables reserved. Also they would have said if they had tables reserved. So I didn’t understand the face the person made when seeing us. Do they not want customers? Once we sat down my friend tried to call someone over and they saw my friend but didn’t even bother attending to him. They attended to others instead. Including the table that was sitting right next to us. My friend called out to the same waiter multiple times. This waiter looked at my friend and ignored him everytime. Price was daylight robbery. And it goes hand in hand with the portion size too as it was not worth the price compared to other Turkish places like gokyuzu which is far better for the price, portion size, taste/quality and customer service. £19.95 for a mixed shish only for the portion size to be tiny and not even taste good. We all looked at our plates confused and were disappointed with the taste and could not believe we were being charged this much for something so below average. Summary. Horrible service, taste was bad. Lacked so much flavour. Way overpriced. Portions were small. Not worth it at all. Just go to somewhere else honestly.

Me and my friends we went to this restaurant for the first time and food was average not so great or tasty like any other Turkish restaurant. We asked for jug of water after placing our order which we never received. When we asked for extra salad, we have been told we have to pay for extra salad which was combination of lots lettuce, red cabbage, lemon and some cucumber. After we finished the food, I have asked the Waiter do you do Turkish tea on the house like every other Turkish restaurant or not? If not we will pay for the tea. The reply was yes we do but it is bit late, so we can't serve you. The time was 9:40pm where the restaurant closes at 11pm and it was late for them to serve tea. I wonder they might make the world special Turkish tea which they can't serve at 9:40pm where the restaurant closes at 11pm. We found it really unprofessional and rude. Won't going back to the restaurant again and won't recommend to anyone.

This is my regular go to place for Turkish food, and I’ve always enjoyed the experience. The food is consistently delicious, served very quickly, and the staff are usually very friendly and welcoming. However, my visit yesterday felt quite unusual. While the male waiter was exceptionally friendly, the tall lady waiter who seemed like she might be a family member of the staff or perhaps the manager came across as rude and abrupt. It was disappointing, especially since I came with my elderly mum, who also noticed her strange behavior. To make matters worse, it was my daughter’s birthday, and the atmosphere felt off. For the first time, we decided to leave quickly without staying for dessert or the traditional Turkish tea we always look forward to. It’s a shame because I love this place and don’t plan to stop coming altogether, but this experience has made me rethink how often I’ll return.

If I could possibly describe this place in two words... Absolutely Abysmal!

I was highly recommended this place by a friend, but after this appalling experience I am left questioning his taste buds and his level of self respect. What should have been an early red flag was the fact that the staff completely disregarded our group once we turned up, with half the restaurant filled with empty seats.

Once we were finally seated, to say the level of service was appalling would be a complete understatement. I was completely ignored on multiple occasions by multiple waiting staff, while they would address the needs of the table right next to us instead. They even sent some of our food to the table next us, which the customers had to pass over to us without the staff even batting an eyelid. I would understand if the restaurant was extremely busy for these rookie mistakes to be made but it was barely half full.

...And don't even get me started on the food. The lahmacun was probably the worst I have ever tasted (and I've had cheap takeaway lahmacun), with it tasting like it had been sweatboxing in that refrigerator for a good day or two. No crisp, completely soggy middle and lacking any last bit of flavour.

The mains were no better. I had to look at my phone to see the date to make sure they weren't playing an April fools joke on us when those sad looking fragments of chicken and Lamb shish came out. To add insult to injury it cost roughly £20 for a plate. Which got me questioning, did I just pay £20 for salad?

The audacity is truly unreal, especially when you have other local Turkish spots like Adana (Bethnal green) which provide a far greater level of quality for a significantly cheaper price.

I really have dug deep to try and find at least one good thing about this restaurant and I think I'd be pushing it to say the very least their wet wipes were of adequate quality. That is as far as I can go unfortunately.

Overall, I'd have to say I would go as far as saying I'd rather go to Maedah Grill than to come back here, and Maedah is the equivalent to running a marathon with no legs. So save your money and spend it at a place that values you as a customer and not just...

Terrible terrible experience. My first time going to this restaurant. I went with my family for Eid. We ordered 3 platters which comes with Bulgar and rice. However, upon receiving the platter there was no bulgar on the platter. I asked to speak to the manager and no one came. They were aware that there was no bulgar left and despite us ordering the platter they did not even have the decency to let us know they’ve run out of bulgar. The receipt came and I was speaking to a staff member who was rude and had a terrible attitude. I asked to speak to the manager and she said there is no manager. Surprisingly, as our discussion was going round in circles the manager came out. I explained to him what happened and that we should be compensated as we received no bulgar rice. He did not even apologise and stated he gave more additional rice and said rice and bulgar are the same. I relayed to him his staff members should have told us there no bulgar when we ordered and that bulgar and rice are not the same. They made us order the food, fully aware there was no bulgar left and entrapped us as we could not do anything since the food arrived. The manager could have used his discretion and given discount but failed to acknowledge my point of view and maintained that bulgar and rice are the same. I would not recommend this place. You could order a Adana meal and only the rice would come and then they will say there is no Adana left, plus to top of it the foot was salty. Would not recommend. The Owner wrote I attended at 11 but we didn’t, the table was booked for 9:30pm. He is on the defensive. He further mentions he gave more food on the platter. Again another false claim, he only mentioned he gave more rice, apparently to him rice and bulgar at the same. That’s like chicken and meat...
