Sunlight Caribbean Restaurant — Restaurant in London

I have waiting to review this place after visiting it twice for a fair opinion.

I must say, this is my new favourite place for jerk chicken and rice and peas! It’s full of flavour with great amount of seasoning. The rice is fluffy and the chicken is ridiculously good.

The service is usually not my favourite is Caribbean places I’ve visited however this place uphold great service. They are attentive, fast and friendly.

The atmosphere is ok, this is mostly a takeaway shop.

I must say I got the plantain when I first visited and it was very stale and cold. Would never get it again which is a shame since I love it.

Overall a definite must visit place for authentic Caribbean. I can’t review anything else since I haven’t tried it and cold plantain otherwise would’ve scored a 5!

The price is reasonable and they have a lunchtime meal which is great and will try it next time!

We had the pleasure of using Sherine at Sunlight Caribbean to cater for our blessing party.

From the start Sherine was polite and professional, provided a quote in good time and adapted the menu to suit our needs including an allergy.

They delivered the food on time to the hall where the party was and set it up nicely in the kitchen.

“The best fish I have ever tasted” said one guest.

“The chicken was sooo good.” Another guest shared.

All the food was polished off and there was a queue around the hall for everyone to get some tasty food.

We were fuelled for dancing and the food represented my culture in a mixed partnership- so appreciated.

I wholeheartedly recommend and will be using again.

This review is a long time coming but I have been supporting Sherine and Jeff since they first opened all these years ago, even ordering directly from them when they handed over the business for a year just before covid. I can't tell you how much I love their food and warm hospitality and is the type of independent place everyone needs on their doorstep. Sadly I am moving away from the area soon and will miss them incredibly. My go to orders are the jerk chicken and curry goat and will go as far as saying I've never had any better anywhere else. The food is so good I will be making the one hour trip weekly when I move to get my weekly fix....
