After reading all the positive reviews I came in with extremely high expectations. These were met and exceeded. Exterior is clean and mysterious; due to intentional lack of heavy signage. Once you step inside you are greeted with exceptional service; which carrys through until it’s time to say goodbye. The playlist is spot on! Not stuffy and unwelcoming. Proper alternative 80’s that makes you feel like you’re visiting family. The decor and atmosphere is cosy. Which is very appreciated on a cold evening! All dishes are flawless, I tried to find a fault but the produce is high quality, everything is seasoned and cooked to perfection. The Irish elements were nostalgic tastes of my childhood, with added fusion that works! As a group of four we tried all the dishes on the menu. Everything is served to share but I’d recommend getting your own portion of potatoes, as you’ll be having a showdown for the last one (yes, they are that good). The oysters are delightful, probably the best I’ve had. The ‘Saag Burrata’ was stunning! The Sea Bream was cooked perfectly, the sauce was addictive. Even dessert was such a unique take on a classic sweet treat. We had to book very far in advance, but the wait was worth it - I will happily wait again! Thank you...
Read moreMy friend and I managed to get a table last night and we were so impressed. The whole vibe and atmosphere of the place sets the tone for a great night - perfect balance of lighting and music that you can still chat and not compete with loud music/too dark.
For the food the butter chicken paratha and Prawn Sambal are MUSTS. Flavor was phenomenal. The chaat potatoes were also good. We weren’t that impressed with the aubergine dish, was lacking in flavor and texture compared to the other dishes which was sad because the dish sounded so interesting. In saying that, we didn’t really care because everything else was so good.
Cocktails were also great. One of the best Irish coffees I’ve ever had - nutmeg was nutmegging and it was just to die for.
Service was also top notch, Irish girl was great at explaining everything and just all round super friendly welcoming feel from everyone. OPEN A SHANKEYS IN...
Read moreProbably the best service I’ve had for many a time. The food was flavoursome and fresh, but for me, trying a bit too hard. The mackerel dish was, interesting let’s say, mushrooms and mackerel in a cold spiced watery dish, not for me. Cauliflower cheese paratha alot going on, our lactose free cheese less paratha was way better. We had the whole menu which is concise, but nothing really stood out. Aubergine main was very gluttonous and starchy not sure what the sauce was trying to be. Black bream was ok, id like it to be hotter on the spice meter to cut through. I would love it give it 5 stars alone for the service but alas, for me the food could be better if paired back. Not feeling it served on vintage tea plates, very hip but your gears flying off the plate at every serve in a group setting. Missed a depth of flavour I would expect with this type menu. Needs...
