Taboon — Restaurant in London

Ordered the sabbich (£3.5) and chips (£1.5). Slices of aubergine are slid into a pita and handed over to me to fill in with a variety of salad and sauces to my heart's content. The food appeared fresh and I saw the guys replenishing the salad cart as were the chips that looked homemade. They were also great value for money.

An interesting exchange took place between one customer and the server. "Too much salt in the chips! My friend has a health problem regarding salt and you should have asked before adding salt". There are always a few customers like this, irritating with a sense of entitlement. If the health problem was that bad perhaps she should have taken responsibility and pointed it out during the ordering process. Anyhow, the guys handled it well without biting back. They made her another portion of chips. No doubt she will ask for a discount after.

They have various other quick meals at great prices. Oh and the falafel were real tasty. Next time...

Sub optimal experience at 6:45 this evening. During COVID pandemic the measures in place were minimal, with no masks on staff. In early evening they were not ready for dinner time rush, with empty salads, poor stocks of pizza, and they had ran out of bags etc.

Due to the pandemic they are meant to make up falafel for you instead of the normal self service, but the staff member was ineffective at this. Also there was some sort of distraction out back and the one person on duty kept disappearing without notice or explanation.

I like their food, value and simple setup, but they need to do better. To their credit a decent discount was applied . I hope the manager...
