I like this place but not so much the staff. When I visited there were only 10 customers or so and 2 staff and they weren't busy but it was almost impossible to get their attention without verbally calling them for service. I sat outside which was nice to watch the hustle amd bustle of the street. The pub is very clean and well appointed making it feel like a place Id come back to but for me the staff are nearly more important than the surroundings as they make or break the experiemce for me. I imagine it does get busy in the evening and wonder how they mamage then. Ill be back and see if we can bring the rating up some more..

If you're looking for a spot that has nice food, fantastic drinks, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, The Argyle is a top choice. I recently visited for a 60th celebration, and it was the perfect setting for a lovely afternoon. What truly made the experience stand out, however, was the friendly staff. From the moment we walked in, everyone made us feel right at home. Overall, The Argyle is a great choice for any occasion, whether you're stopping in for a casual pint or celebrating a special moment. Highly recommend!

We popped in for a couple of drinks and food after working all day. We sat upstairs and were amazed at the amount of people who were there after work. The fish and chips was really good. My husband had the meat pie which was gone before I could get a bite from him and the selection of wine and beer was excellent. 4 bottles of wine later, we were closing down the bar and headed back to our hotel. If you are looking for a good local pub in the diamond district, check them out!

I have to start by saying a big THANK YOU to Aoife. She helped me create memories with my team on my leaving drinks which I will remember for the rest of my life I was looking to organise my leaving drinks party on 4th May 2023. I enquired about 10 places in and around Holborn however none of them I found so professional, flexible and innovative. Aoife and team did not believe in just booking the place, serving drinks and count cash. They advised me on food, packages for drinks, what I should pre-order vs what I should leave for the event day and decide based on gathering. Aoife took care of the smallest of the details like where to place food, where to keep the bags, how the lights could be, what are the options for the music etc. I hired the basement area for the event. Argyle team allowed us to have our own music for the room which made it extra special for the people and they were so happy to show-off their dance moves. The reason I did not select the other 10 places Vs why I selected The Argyle is based on the personal touch Aoife and the team gave starting from the first point of interaction to the end of the event. They went above and beyond for me to be able to have this event in my budget with no compromise to quality. For anyone who wants to have a party in this area I would highly recommend 'The Argyle', I have already been there two more times with a smaller group since the main party. A very big THANK YOU to Aoife and The Argyle. You will see me and...

This place is a little gold mine , booked the argyle for my best friends after funeral service , the assistant manager was totally amazing, and just made everything so much easier, I booked a buffet for 20 people she helped me choose the food , sorry I do not remember the assistant managers name as I had so much going on that day , when we arrived to the argyle they served us drinks and when everyone arrived they bought out our food they even did a separate platter for one of our vegan freinds, the food looked amazing even for a buffet , will definitely be going back for a drink sometime, the staff and food and atmosphere here are amazing I highly recommend even if it's only for a drink but the food is amazing to , thankyou assistant manager for everything you were amazing and sorry I can not remember your name I give the argyle a great big...

When we arrived we were greeted by such a lovely host, she was just great. Allowed us to stay for drinks past our booking time which we so appreciated- but hugely let down by one of the bar staff. He shouted at my friend when she tried to get attention to order a drink, and then as we finished up to leave came to our table three times in the space of 15 minutes and aggressively told us the pub was closing. We stood outside waiting for our uber and he then came out and shouted at us to get off the property. Really weird and aggressive to be honest, and not a reflection of any of the other staff. We've all been through a tricky year, we are just trying to get through the next steps together. Just be nice. Our first experience of being indoors at a pub in over a year, we...
