This is a guild church, worshipping in the modern Catholic tradition. It has been a place of worship for over a thousand years. It was renovated by Sir Christopher Wren in 1687. It was badly damaged in 1941 by an incendiary bomb and rebuilt in 1961. Recently updated and decorated, it re opened in May 2019.

This church has numerous historic associations with the current building attributed to Wren. The spacious interior a facsimile reconstruction. Foundling Hospital 'bluecoat' statues gaze wistfully over the pleasant garden courtyard affording momentary respite from the daily grind and a busy streetscape.

It was gutted by a German bomb in the Blitz, but faithfully rebuilt to the design of Sir Christopher Wren, who had earlier rebuilt the church after the 1666 Great Fire. Very beautiful inside, with a tasteful blend of very old and modern design . The afternoon light through the windows was interesting.

I performed at St Andrews this evening for our choir’s summer concert - we’d rehearsed for 6 months for tonight and had family and friends travel from far and wide to come and support us. We had paid a premium for hiring the venue and all of our friends and family had paid £20 a ticket to be there. At 10pm - 5 minutes before the end of our concert (and just before our finale), and in the middle of a song - the Bishop of Fulham turned the lights off and came on stage - bare foot and in his dressing gown telling us to ‘get out of his house’ It was the most extraordinarily rude behaviour from a clergyman I’ve ever witnessed. It was embarrassing and hugely disappointing to all those performing and in the audience. We’re all gutted that all our months of hard work and preparation ended in such a rude and disrespectful way. If you’re looking for a venue please avoid at all costs! The bishop obviously doesn’t like people in ‘his house’ even if they have paid...

Was having the time of my life at a choir concert here when, at about 10pm, the vibe was crucified quite literally, by a man in a dressing gown claiming to be the homeowner/priest. He marched on stage, bathrobe flowing, and announced, “This is my house, please leave now.”

Crowd thought it was part of the show. It was not. Music stopped. Priest stood his ground like a final boss. No explanation. Just Gregorian rage and holy authority.

Iconic in hindsight, but two stars for ruining my night and possibly my faith in live music. I may become curfew-atheist after yesterday’s saga of...

Don’t hire this venue for your music event unless you are prepared to be thrown out at bang on 10pm by the vicar (who is also Bishop of Fulham) no matter whether the performance is finished or not, has been rehearsed for months beforehand, has a full audience of music lovers enjoying themselves… yes this happened this evening. Unbelievably rude. The concert would have been finished 5 minutes later and a lot of upset and outrage was caused by this not to mention a singer missing his solo which took weeks of rehearsal and hard work to...
