Delightful experience this afternoon at Dynamo cafe. A riding partner and i stopped in for a quick drink and snack during our Saturday sojourn around richmond park (which was topped off with a decathlon detour for myself). The cafe was clean and decked out in cycling memorabilia and trinkets. Several large televisions were showing the Tour de France Femmes, great stuff. I did wonder (but did not ask) whether they would also be able to show the men's world tour race which was running concurrently - the classica San Sebastian. Although I would've loved to join the other punters in their viewing of the TDFF, my riding partner and I decided to take an outdoor table in order to view the Classica San Sebastian on my phone via discovery plus. Worry not dear reader I am of course a feminist and ally, however I had £5 riding on Juan Ayuso in the men's race at odds of 6/1 so was staring down the barrel of a £30 profit should my bet come to fruition. This did not occure unfortunately, as Ayuso's teammate Isaac Del Toro played the leading role for UAE team Emirates in this race, escaping with Giulio Ciccone only to be outfoxed and outmuscled by the wily Italian on the final climb around 7km from the finish. £5 down I was able to console myself with a delicious Almont pain au chocolat and Oat milk iced latte (my 2nd of the day, what a life!). I was also able to use the conveniences at Dynamo which flushed quickly and effectively once prompted (example video below). Worth a visit if you like cycling, maybe even if you don't but can stand being around them and are bored of eating at the nearby Wetherspoons!

We visited *The Dynamo* for breakfast with our bike club just before Christmas, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for cyclists and anyone looking for a relaxed vibe. The staff were incredibly accommodating, ensuring our group was well taken care of, which we really appreciated. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality of the food justifies the cost. The ingredients were clearly top-notch, and everything we ordered was delicious. You can tell they prioritize fresh, high-quality produce, which adds real value to the experience. After enjoying a leisurely breakfast, we decided to hang out for a bit longer and ended up having a few pints before midday. It was the perfect way to wind down and soak in the laid-back ambiance of the place. If you're looking for a spot that caters to both great food and a relaxed environment, *The Dynamo* is well worth a visit—especially if you’re part of a cycling group or just enjoy a quality dining experience. We'll definitely be back

Great place for a brunch. I found the atmosphere lovely, with really attentive staff. You can order via QR code on the table OR by physical menu and talking to wait staff - a decision I very much appreciate them giving to the customer. The wait wasn't too long and we were able to stroke some dogs in the meantime. If you're allergic or don't want them around food, I'd be a bit careful coming here, but all that we saw were very polite. The food was tasty although quite pricey, with a 12% service charge when ordering through the QR code. Judge for yourselves whether it's "London price" or suitable. Either way if you're looking to spend a bit and want a quick brunch, you won't be disappointed. You may not be stuffed either if you have a stomach like I do. The burgers below were £14 (inc service charge) with the fries not included. The matcha latte was recommended by my partner!

THE OWNER HAS MANAGED TO REMOVE MY REVIEW AND HAS DONE THIS TO MANY OTHERS. DON’T TRUST THE REVIEWS

RESPONSE TO OWNER BELOW

JACK AND THE MEANSTALK...Terrible customer service from the manager Jack. Food is great though. Mar 2023 This was an online order through deliveroo. After reading previous comments can confirm the manager Jack is incredibly rude. I politely told him that the images on the partner website were misleading as to the quantity of food you get in reality I.e. 1.5 sausages photographed topside to look like three. Everything else was accurate so assumed a mistake which he was quite defensive about it and repeated the image is of 1.5 sausages not really acknowledging my point and saying 'we've never had any complaints a red flag of a response from any customer service rep! I then called back because I realised only one of the two portions I ordered had been delivered, not in anger just to say keep an eye on what's going out. He responded by saying you're clearly unhappy mate and there's nothing I can do, I told him I wasn't unhappy I just thought he should know (as I would if I was running a restaurant) he then kept repeating you're clearly unhappy mate trying to goad me into a response at which point I realised I was talking someone with the mentality of a child and as such the conversation was futile. Jack my advise to you my friend is you might need a change of profession or maybe take some time off? I'm worried about you mate and I'm sure your colleagues are not to mention the impact you'll inevitably have on the business. Just to reiterate the quality of food is excellent. The kitchen is doing a great job! Volatile Jack at front of house leaves something to be desired to say the least.

RESPONSE TO OWNERS COMMENTS… Thanks for taking the time to respond Joe. That being said I’m not sure what gave you the impression I was in any way looking for a response from you. As to you not recognising this conversation…. 😂 It never was a conversation Joe, it really wasn’t chap. You’ll know I’m talking to you when I address or look at you. Have you been using Google reviews as a chat forum again?? Regarding the objectivity of my review, it was as objective as I wanted it be thanks Joe. It clearly set out the terrible experience I had with your rude employee. On to my final point Joe (nearly there)! Yes ideally there wouldn’t have been any need for what you have so dramatically termed a personal attack. I feel exactly the same way about how I was treated on the phone by Jack. My review was largely to warn others about Jack because honestly I don’t believe he takes polite constructive criticism very well and I would go as far to say he has an issue with his anger. I won’t be recommending Dynamo to friends and family because of Jack’s poor annger management and would want others to be aware of my experience. This is what a review is… it’s entirely up to you Joe if you or Jack wish to defend anything I’ve said. I personally couldn’t care less wether you did or didn’t. What I will say to you now Joe is that you may want to spend more time on FOH staff procurement and less time responding to people who asked...

We visited the Dynamo for the very first time yesterday. That was our first and last time. Such a shame, the place it's quite nice and the food was very good but the service probably the worst I've ever experienced. The second we walked in I knew straight away that this place was a bloody mess. And before I get handed the card we can get quite busy on a Saturday afternoon let me just say that what I have witnessed has NOTHING to do with being busy. I've worked in customer service my entire life, I've managed a team and I know a badly run place when I see one. The amount of staff on duty was PLENTY! What lets the whole establishment down is being run by an arrogant, rude and incompetent manager. He never missed a chance to belittle, argue or shame his staff in front of all the paying customers. I mean, how could anyone think it's acceptable in this day and age to have the entire team treated like a bunch of incompetent school children? You will simply end up with a whole team who is unhappy and unwilling to perform. No business can survive for very long this way. I honestly felt sorry for the staff. Yes they were slow, they were forgetting orders, some of them looked like they had no clue what they were doing, but that's not purely down to the individual. Bad management and negativity in the work place will only breed more negativity and disorganization. When it was time to settle the bill my husband asked the "manager" if the service that gets added onto the bill, actually goes to the staff (sadly only too many restaurants add service charge but don't share it amongst the team, and this is terrible but also a whole another story). He responded with a very confident YES OF COURSE! and then seconds later said "But if you prefer to take it off the bill and pay it in cash that's also totally fine". In NO ESTABLISHMENT where the service is rightfully given to the staff, such statement would have been uttered. So my husband gave a cash tip and asked for the service to be removed. The manager tried to pocket the tip for himself, absolutely shameful. Whoever owns this place needs to be aware and understand what is really happening because if that was MY restaurant, I would want to know. The staff is unhappy, not trained properly and publicly shamed CONSTANTLY. Respect and professionalism in the workplace are pretty...
