Coppa Club Putney — Restaurant in London

We hadn't eaten since last night, so was quite hungry and looking forward to some lunch after having a busy morning. Out of all the places around, we decided on this Coppa place by the river. Hungry and looking forward to our meal. Staff members were polite and friendly until the end. The wait for food for somewhat a little longer than expected considering it wasn't busy at all. Didn't expect fast food of course. So food came out and i chose Coppa Burger and she chose Coppa fish. She was not impressed with the portion size at all. She counted around 7ish thick chips and a small cod. For the cost expected a lot more. The taste was ok but not great and not worth the money. The mushy peas were a huge disappointment too for her as it was more like mushy mint with no pea taste. My burger on the other hand looked great, my fries were very nice and a fairly decent sized portion… however i took a bite of the burger and my entire tastesbuds and fingers were ruined by the tons of mustard they put into the burger… completely ruined it! It was edible but wondered if i should have asked for a Mustard burger and seen if i got less!! Places like this look great but sadly will die with experiences like this, when people start to think twice about where to spend their money during difficult times. Wanted to love it but was left disappointed! after we had paid… even after reluctantly accepting to pay service charge! They didn't bother to say thank you or come again… so...

We live locally and when coppa club were applying for their license championed the introduction with local residents who were less than enthusiastic.

Since the opening, we’ve been on a number of occasions. The frequency of the visits waned a while as the experience was both expensive and average. We decided to try it again recently to see how it would go.

Where as the food has remained consistently average, the service has got worse and and worse. We went for drinks last weekend and sat amongst dirty plates and glasses, along with a large water spillage on the floor. The manageress came to and from to hang out with her friends repeatedly ignoring both of us and the disarray around us.

We tried again on Wednesday and almost had to beg to order a drink. It got to the point that we started timing how long it would take for drinks and food to arrive, making a competition out of the delays.

Tonight we called in for a quick drink. The bar area was half empty with couples sitting in areas designed for six or seven guests and loan drinkers commandeering multiple stalls at the bar. We stayed at the bar, waited for a drink and were told it was full.

This could’ve been a great introduction to Putney. I guess it has fierce competition from the Dynamo around the corner, which is better value for money, has a better atmosphere has attentive staff. This will be our last visit unless we are dragged kicking and screaming. Good luck, you may well need it...

Avoid at all costs. I would rate it 0 stars if I could. Ruined my birthday celebrations on 2 occasions. We have attended this location twice as my friends bought be a voucher for my birthday, as I wanted to have dinner in an igloo. The first time I travelled from Norwich for the dinner. We arrived (5 minutes early) and they had given our igloo away. They said they couldn’t find my booking despite me confirming the day before via email. They gaslighted me into thinking I had booked it on the wrong date/location but I had booking confirmation stating we were correct. We left had a lovely meal at Franca man a (opposite and highly recommend instead of here). As we had a voucher we wanted to try again. So we booked again igloo booked, arrived. They had to remove someone from our igloo. At the end of the meal we checked the bill, redeemed the voucher and they charged us for the wrong igloo. £52 each!!! When it should have been £30. Went in to get reimbursed and they said we couldn’t are the till wouldn’t let them. So went away paying for extra food we didn’t eat. Weren’t offered anything for this. Just told to fill out a form to be refunded. The waiter said this will take longer than 6 months. Appalled but the lack of treatment. Wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend unless you want your birthday meal...
