Been living in this area for years, but never got a chance to visit the Gregorian. Decided to go for Sunday roast and left with mixed feelings.
Pros: Location is great - outdoor seating on a 17 degrees day is amazing. Plenty of seats both indoor and outdoor. Toilets are clean and deco seems nice.
The crowd was pleasant, not too rowdy and pretty community feel.
Cons: Very limited food menu on a Sunday afternoon. Only had 2 options - Vegan or Beef and the prices were quite staggering. £19 for beef and £16 for the vegan roast. It did surprise us when we paid the bill. Though the food was pretty good, the prices were just too high.
Service was pleasant but a tad slow, almost careless. When we first arrived, the staff were just chatting, so we weren't sure if we were supposed to get our own seats or wait to be seated.
We were given one napkin instead of two as well (hence the careless comment).
Not too sure we would come back again for food unless they have more options available, but perhaps for drinks...shame though, as it's...
Read moreMy family member ordered a chicken kebab meal but the chicken was burnt all over and it tasted bitter and therefore she asked me if I could help her to exchange the meal with another type of meal as she thought it won’t be exchanged with the same one of an eatable quality. I was told by 1 of the waiters that there is nothing wrong with the chicken. He gaslighted me and asking where exactly it’s burnt and I had to show him, it was actually burnt all over. Then, he called me rude only because I wanted to take a photo of the burnt food. He was very unprofessional, incompetent and unfriendly from the start, throughout the rest of our stay there. Can you please train your waiters in customer service skills and hire a chef who doesn’t burn the food? The food shouldn’t leave a very bad taste in the mouth for the rest of the evening. My family member than got a double cheeseburger which was burnt as well. There’s no way I will recommend this pub to anyone, especially not to my Airbnb guests as I run my Airbnb business next...
Read moreWonderful!!! The staff was just incredibly charming from start to end! I had my little dog and was welcomed with smiles and she got cuddles too :) Although the kitchen was not open the guy at the bar was lovely and said is just 10 mins until they open if you would like to wait :) so I did and I ordered a lovely burger with fries (massive) followed by a brownie and salted caramel ice cream all really good even if the ice cream was a bit weird (probably defrosted and got frozen again so tasted watery) I asked to change for another ice cream and it was no trouble and even an apology was made so very happy with the attitude from this other guy that served me! The place has gone from really bad English stinky full of drunkees with no proper kitchen to a complete refurbished dog friendly and complete new look with...
