Top Notch Service in an Affordable Rate:
I spent my birthday in this lovely hostel and I just wanted everyone to see that this is one of the best hostels in the heart of London!
GENERAL: The place gives a late-1800 Britain vibe... Very old-school (not in a negative way huh) The place is kept very clean but there are some parts of the facility needs repairing, upgrading or replastering... (I did saw a hole on a pathway from the door leading outside) But overall the place is very comfortable...
PUB: Same ol' British Pub! They have a huge selection of lagers, beers and wines (not sure about spirits) but they lack non-alcoholic beverage options hopefully they can offer these too... But in fairness they offer cold water, orange juice and cucumber-mint water (tea, coffee and chocolate drink for hostel stayers)... Free breakfast for hostel stayers and 15% discount in all of their menus... Very artistically made tables and chairs too
BEDS: The mattress are comfy, the duvet is warm and cozy, just needed a fluffier pillow... I was initially placed on the top bunk bed and it gave me nausea because the bed is a bit tad wobbly... I did asked the staff if i could transfer into any vacant lower bunk bed and they immediately accomodated my request (+++++) Another thing, in the room that I stayed there is a shortage of electrical outlet and every one inside is struggling to have their gadgets charged... I only saw one wall mounted outlet and an extrension... Hopefully they can sort this one out...
FOOD: One phrase - Mouth-watering... I ordered the 28-day Aged Sirloin Steak flame gilled to medium rare with Chips, Baked Vine Tomatoes and Mushroom with Peppercorn Sauce and Homemade Chicken Nuggets on their signature Bourbon Glaze... Both are tasty and very filling... I was hoping though next time add some more peppercorn sauce and bourbon glaze 😋😋😋😋😋
STAFF: One word - approachable... They are very gracious and accomodating... They dont hesitate to answer your queries and they will accomodate your request as much as they can and allowed to, all of them are GOOD LOOKING, presentable and easy to talk to...
SUGGESTION: Open kitchen for those who are staying in the hostel.
Thanks for giving me a...

The Horse & Stables is located near a busy intersection not far from Waterloo Station. The nearest Tube is Lambeth North which is just around the corner. . This place dates from the early 19th century, originally known as the Horse & Groom for Wm. Younger & Co. There have been a couple of name changes in recent years, The Horse in 2007, then The Horse & Stables in 2014. . The decor here is traditional with a few contemporary touches here and there. This is a medium size one bar pub which has a simple but good size servery on the left hand side. There is plenty of seating throughout the pub, my favourite area was the oldschool booth with the Georgian panelling and brown velour seat covers. Opposite the servery are a group of comfy booths with stylish wallpaper above and large gold framed mirrors across the wall. . The beer choice was keg craft focused and included brews by local London breweries. After some guidance from the nice chap behind the ramp, I decided on a pint of 32 lager by @brewbynumbers . This was my first pint of 32 and I really enjoyed it, price point was just above average. There is a traditional pub grub menu with an American influence. . I visited around 5pm on Coronation day back in May. On entering the pub, there was a relaxing vibe and a overall lovely atmosphere. The soundtrack was an eclectic mix from the Bee Gees to rare groove soul, loved it. The service was great, the chap behind the bar was very welcoming, courteous and as mentioned earlier helpful in choosing a beer. . The @horseandstables was a very enjoyable visit most notably for the friendly and welcoming feel here. The beer selection was good and the food receives positive reviews. This pub is definitely worth a visit for any occasion. . ℹ️ Info correct on...
Read moreThe location is great and the food in the restaurant is fairly good. However, the rooms are terrible. The towel in my room had obviously not been washed as it had what looked like bodily fluid stains on it in several places and had a large hole as well. The mattress on the bed was so worn out that I could feel the metal bars underneath. The sheets and pillow cases are very old and worn out and looked very unclean. There was a rat trap underneath the bed as well. The bathrooms are quite disgusting. There was no toilet paper, no hand soap and no paper towels to dry your hands. Literally none. There were also no hooks to hang clothes or towels. I would highly recommend wearing bathroom shoes because the floors were very dirty. The baseboards are covered in layers of dust. The staff are all quite young and their customer service was well below par. If you’re not a hipster then this hostel will not be for you. It’s as though a group of kids are running a business and have no lie what they’re doing. It’s a shame becauss the location is really good and the place could have a good atmosphere. I’ve stayed in many hostels and this is by far the dirtiest and most disappointing. I would seriously consider looking elsewhere and I definitely will not...
