TERRIBLE! Not only was the food not good and definitely not authentic (I was born in Cuba) but the restaurant itself is literally abysmal. You walk in and there is art on the walls of the very dictatorship that made so many Cubans flee or DIE. if you have any morality at all, skip this restaurant. You won’t even be missing much considering the food was less than average.
UPDATE!!!
In reply to the owners ridiculous comment:
I am not from Miami. But, Cuba is highly represented in Miami because a lot of Cubans live there. Not sure why this owner has an issue with that. Maybe they were never able to live in Miami. But the thing that their comment did was just further prove how they support the Cuban regime. There are NOT pictures from all eras of Cuba. There is not a single picture of Celia Cruz which is extremely customary at a Cuban restaurant because she is an extremely important person to Cuban culture. Instead, you have Fidel Castro propaganda plastered on the wall with calls for the revolution. It’s one thing to say you have different parts of history on the walls but there is a mural of Castro…there is no explaining that other than you support the atrocities he committed due to your ignorance. And my next point, the food was NOT authentic. The only authentic Cuban food that exists are from Cubans and I’m starting to doubt this owner is even Cuban. If they are, I would like to say you have betrayed your island and this isn’t political. The Cuban government kills. Your restaurant celebrates that. Absolutely disgusting...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious food. Refilled our souls after long travel! Mateus was so kind and helpful! What a great server! Edited to add. We came back tonight to eat again we loved it so much. The host (Adri) was such a jerk. As we were walking over I pulled up the reservation option and there were plenty of times and slots so we walked over at 545. The outside had a few people and that is it. As we walked up the host gave us a look of disgust we all immediately noticed. We asked for table for 3 and he literally rolled his eyes. He took us to a 2 top table. We had just eaten here and knew we couldn't fit 3 entrees, an app, drinks and waters at the tiny table made for two and asked for a bit bigger one. Despite 2/3rds of the tables being available he said we would have to go inside for a bigger table. We were disappointed and confused. He said the other tables were booked for future dining. He took us to the tall table on the little balcony. It was so hot and the chairs slant a little which I could not tolerate with a bad back. When a server came we asked why we couldn't have one of the outdoor tables. She was able to get one right away. She was incredible just like Mateus. Her name was Krishi. We had our phenomenal food and when we were done... half of the outside tables were still empty. Amazing food and restaurant. The host needs training or maybe a job he doesnt hate with the passion of a thousand suns. He is going to tank your...
Read moreWent to have dinner with my mom. Wow, we were so disappointed. Spent £90. Ordered about four dishes, and every single one of them was absolutely terrible. No flavor at all. The tomato sauce was clearly microwaved straight from the fridge. The mixed tapas had some kind of random meat — we couldn’t even tell what it was because it tasted like cardboard. My mom couldn’t even finish her plate. We left totally disappointed. Their “star” dish — the grilled sandwich — tasted just like a random sandwich from the street (or even worse). And guess what… it came with store-bought plantain chips straight from a bag!
I don't enjoy giving bad reviews...it's not my thing. But wow I really needed to review this place.
Update: I'm not American, and I genuinely couldn't care less about the Cuban regime. However, the way you responded to my review simply proves my point — absolutely no professionalism, just a group of random people from Cuba trying to run what can barely be called a “restaurant.”
Your waiters couldn’t even remember our order and had to come back several times to ask again. The service was dreadful, the food even worse. This is the UK, not Cuba.
Frankly, I’m quite certain we could have had far better chicken at Chicken Cottage than at your so-called “restaurant.”
A good restaurant would take criticism constructively and strive to improve, rather than deny the truth and place the blame on...
