This was the first time that we went to dinner at Jamie restaurant, and it will be the last, I have never experienced such bad service and rude staff, in all the years I have eaten in restaurants throughout the world, we waited one and half hours for our dinner, we had to ask how long it would be before we would be served ,as the staff did not even realise we did not have our food, to rudely be told you have not waited a long time, when I pointed out that the three other tables of guests arrived after us, but they had their food, to be told I was lying and we had not been waiting that time, and said he checked, and I pointed out I can prove the time we arrived by the text to my fiend that I had arrived and was parking, there was no apology for the timescale we had been waiting, or attempt to rectify the issue, my friend then explained her dish should not take over one and a half hours, to be then told well your not the only person that’s waiting for food.
When we finally received our food the dishes had dried up food on the outside of the bowls, also we ordered paswari nam, but garlic Nan was put on the table, we stated this was incorrect to then be told well you can eat that , the list is endless of things said by the member of staff, and how he spoke to me and my friends when in discussions about the service, at how rude and disrespectful he was
The whole experience was mind blowing when the bill was brought out. I requested what discount would we receive due to the time scale and bad customer service received to be told none and that I was rude, when I was not rude at all in anyway, he became very aggressive in his mannerism towards us, until I pointed out my rights
You do not treat paying customers the way we were, from being spoken to rudely and no attempt to try and apologise or rectify the problem
This member of staff was at the front of house and was wearing jeans, a black hoodie and trainers, with long hair scuffed up in a bun, not tied up neatly, like it should be when dealing with food, this is not what you would expect a member of staff to be dressed like when serving customers in a restaurant at front of house , but that matched his whole attitude
I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody, if you want to wait over one and a half hours for your food, having to repeatedly ask for timescale of being served, then receive the incorrect order and be spoken to with no respect, and aggressively throughout, then this is...
Read moreI have been a few times now, and each time I have been blown away by the quality of the food, the attentiveness of the staff and the overall experience.
This is not really a "tradititional Indian (South Asian) restaurant". Rather Aleem has blended South Asian cuisine with numerous other culinary techniques to come up with something truly unique. There are some really innovative dishes on the menu, that you will not find anywhere else.
It is clear that Aleem and his team really take pride in what they do. Aleem in particular always goes the extra mile to understand what you like, and suggest dishes that you might want to try. I would also recommend not restricting yourself to the menu - explain to Aleem what he likes, and he will propose something bespoke.
I think this place is unlike any other restaurant (Indian or otherwise) that I have ever been been to, and I am lucky to have it close to home. I have never been disappointed and will continue to go back regularly.
One final tip - the main courses are larger than you tend to find in other places - if you are having starters, then 1 main between two (with rice / naan) will be more than enough. Every time I go, our "eyes are bigger than my stomach" and we have loads left over - not a problem as they are happy for you to pack it up and take home for the next...
Read moreI've visited The Jasmine with various friends over the past few years and honestly cannot praise this restaurant and the team who work there enough. The food is exceptional - the biryanis are the best my partner and I have ever tasted - no others that we've tried anywhere else (and there have been many!) have ever come close - especially good when the chef(s) have made the inspired move to throw in some sundried tomatoes - I've never seen these in a biryani before, but it tastes magical! The vegetable parathas are so good, I could eat about 30 in one sitting, and the samosas are delicious! Basically everything we've ever tried has been wonderful, and on top of that the service we receive, whether eating in, or ordering for collection or delivery, has been second to none - the staff are genuinely fantastic, lovely people, who are passionate about and incredibly good at what they do. I really can't recommend The Jasmine highly enough, and want to say a huge thank you to all who work there for consistently providing such beautiful food and wonderful service - we had a biryani tonight and I'm already looking forward to the...
