Drove down about about half hour to do some shopping, and after a few hours went for some takeout at this.... place. From the start we got Alona to take our order, which should have been about £35/£40. When we got to paying our bill though, we were in for quite a surprise. She added a number 1 to the bill, which got me to about £144, when I asked about the extra hundred, they looked at me as if I was the mad one. I asked to talk to the manager but I could have asked the wall and might have gotten a better response. She became very rude to me and my wife, and we were shocked as we have had nicer experiences in the past, although I wouldn't give them a high rating on service, but I never had to deal with this kind of behaviour. I just left the place after paying the daylight robbery bill, as I was literally wasting my time arguing my case there. Read moreI’ve been going to the Kanteen Bakery quite a few times now and I really enjoy their food and have liked their service. However, this one time I decided to go today, I felt disrespected. This might seem like a small issue to others but to me it spoke a thousand words. As far as I’m aware, I am the customer and you’re supposed to be treating your customer with respect. However, today when I decided to go and have a meal there, one of the people who work there couldn’t be bothered to give me the menu themselves, so I had to come myself and take it from her hand. She couldn’t even give me eye contact or a smile to welcome me. Now this might seem petty to people but when you go to a place often, you learn of their behaviour and your staff have always been kind and courteous. But this one staff could not give me or my mother any good customer service. This is evident as they did not give us their attention and did not treat us respectfully or kindly. I have just come home from having a baby and did a takeaway order for three items then alona said we asked for six items and charged me double the price!! I tried to reason with her but she did not want to hear anything. She was extremely rude To me and demanded i pay her the full amount as she did not want to hear from anything I’ve asked to speak to a manager and she said that I cannot which is unheard of in any normal restaurant. My family and I have been eating at this restaurant for the last 15 years, and I will definitely never ever ever return to such a place. Well done kanteen for your great customer service.
