On Monday 11th August, I was at Brent Cross and decided to get something for dinner. I was going to go to Shake Shack but I remembered there was a new-ish burger place in the food hall so I decided to try it. I got a burger for take away from Smoky boys to try. When I got home and settled for my dinner, I took a bite of the burger and it was literally raw! It was totally red inside. I was so upset for a number of reasons. I can’t have raw meat and I never eat rare or raw burgers. When I placed my order, no one asked me how I wanted my meat nor was there any mention of how the meat was prepped. There was also no sign about the meat. So I was really upset to get home and find raw meat in my burger. I called the restaurant and spoke to someone who told me that that was how they prepared their meat. I explained that I couldn’t eat it and that I should have been told how the meat was prepared and given a chance to request for it to be well done. The person on the phone apologised and said he will text me a voucher for a free burger to replace the burger I found inedible. I chucked the raw burger in the bin and had to order something else. Today’s Saturday and I still haven’t received any voucher or text from Smoky’s. Overall bad experience and will stick to Shake Shack for my burgers especially since they’re practically...
Read moreI visited smoky boys (Brent Cross) yesterday and ordered the ribs, expecting a satisfying portion of food. While the 20-minute wait wasn’t unreasonable given what I ordered, the real letdown was the dish itself — the ribs were dry, tough, and lacked flavour. Honestly, they tasted like they’d been microwaved rather than freshly cooked.
I’ve had ribs from other spots like Bun N Sum and Holy Smoke, and the difference was night and day. Their ribs are juicy, tender, and full of flavour — exactly what you’d hope for. Smoky Boys sadly didn’t meet that standard.
I’m leaving this review in the hope that the team takes it as constructive feedback. Food quality matters, and I genuinely want them to improve and live up to the potential they...
Read moreThis is my second visit to Smoky Boys in Brent Cross’ newest eating district. Ordered a mixed platter which was shared between 3. The burgers were succulent and beefy, chicken wings sticky and smoky. The loaded brisket fries are absolutely my favourite and I would come back just for those! Enjoyed the mac n cheese and coleslaw (but a little more vinegar in the coleslaw would make it perfect). Also the drinks at this eatery are definitely worth a try - recommend Jarritos Mexican cola! A lovely new halal eatery with quality food, fast and friendly service! The foodcourt itself is very plush & comfortable with...
