The Living Room Rooftop Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in London

Had a very disappointing meal here tonight. The view of the water is nice, as well as the rooftop bar area but the menu is extremely limited and food was not good. Initially we sat at the rooftop bar area and while there were only a few options on the menu, we ordered drinks and eventually all found something we liked. After ordering food (3 of our party ordered the hamburger) the server came by a few minutes later to tell us there were no more hamburgers. We opted to move inside to the main restaurant which had an expanded menu, so the server refunded our initial food purchase and moved us to a table downstairs. The view of the water was still nice but it feels more like eating in a hotel lobby (which is basically what it is). The expanded menu was not very expanded, with only a few more options, but we managed. When the food came is when the real disappointment set in. Everything was extremely over-salted, especially the fries/chips. Most of us could not finish our meals due to the salt. Even the minted mushy peas that came with the fish were salty. We ordered the nachos as a starter and instead of pico de gallo it basically had a tomato paste on it. It was not even attempting to imitate a pico or salsa. The guacamole on the nachos also tasted like it had lemon juice added to it vs lime. It did not feel like any effort was put into the food and it was very overpriced considering the quality. I will say that the serving staff was very friendly and accommodating however it couldn’t really make up for the poor food and lack of selection. If you happen to be staying at the hotel and return tired looking for a quick meal it might be ok, but definitely would not recommend going there given the other options in the area. We were staying across the road with a friend, decided to go there as the menu and atmosphere looked great online. However the whole experience was disappointing. The prawns as a starter were really good, my friend had a fish and chips which was good but the peas were cold. I ordered a steak with was under cooked and the mash was cold. I asked to have the steak cooked a little longer but when it came back one side was cooked and the other side still under cooked. We also still had our starter plates on the table when the food arrived. After they cleared our mains, which I didn't finish one plate was still left on the table and no one asked us if we wanted dessert, coffees or more wine. When waiting to pay no one was paying attention and we started to walk towards the exit then someone finally told us we had a bill to pay. I asked to actually see the bill as they didn't print anything and we didn't want to pay the service charge which was 12.5% as it was poor service.They never asked us why and didn't say goodbye. The restaurant's interior is tastefully designed with a warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home, I especially like the pictures depicting various women in sport from different cultures, religions and backgrounds.
