I really wanted to support this place, I've had some amazing nights in there and as a local I wasn't expecting the attitude and customer service I experienced tonight (I don't even want to leave a 1 start it was that bad).
I popped in there around 6pm on a Friday night with my family, understandably the pub was busy and the Irish band were due to play later (around 7pm I believe so plenty of time for a quick one). With limited seating available my wife and two children sat down at one of the two free table towards the back of the pub, one was reserved for the band but didn't think it would be an issue to seat on the table opposite, whilst waiting in the queue to get served I witnessed the reaction of one of the bar staff, calling another member of staff to kick us off. I've never experienced such an unnecessary nasty attitude anywhere, we were happy to move but the way it was delivered was appalling and inexcusable.
It's clear they prefer empty seats over paying customers, or possibly families with children on a Friday night. It's a real shame, I won't be going back and would advise anyone else with children to avoid this pub, if you live locally there are plenty of better options further up the canal that are much more welcoming and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnwelcoming, rude staff. Popped in with husband and 2 kids at 6pm for a quick drink on our way home and sat at an empty, reserved table. (Would have been more than happy to move on when THE BAND arrived, but they werenāt playing til 7 and we could have moved outside). However was rudely moved on with an angry looking man behind the bar who then shouted at one of his stuff who then promptly removed us from another table - again empty, reserved. Guys - we would have moved when or if the band arrived! Empty seats for people who MIGHT come later are pointless and itās entirely possible we would have been out of their way before hand anyway. No need to be so rude.
Head to The Crate, Beer Merchants Tap or Hackney Bridge where you are welcomed with children, pre 7pm, with friendly smiles for their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame for a meal and a night cap and it was the best decision I made on a Tuesday evening. Rafi served us our drinks whilst welcoming us into the establishment with so much care and attention. He assured us that we were at the right place and helped us order a freshly made burger with cheese that comes with fries and we also got to experience the best pepperoni pizza in London. The atmosphere coupled with the amazing 5* service from Rafi felt very warming and wholesome, the food was literally āchefās kissā ššš¾ If you are a fan of bar games such as billiardsās and darts then this might be the place for you to visit. You will be sure to leave with a smile and a full belly or maybe you could stay and watch football whilst enjoying a brewski with...
