Great pizza; I appreciate a pizza that doesn't scrimp on the toppings; I had a pepperoni one and it was harder to see the pizza base than it was the meat, the base was really thin easily rates at one of the best pizzas I've had in London, especially East. The calamari must've been made fairly fresh as, despite ordering it as the other main with a tasty salad, it arrived ten minutes after the other food mentioned above. It was definitely worth. The garlic pizza was also tasty and really moreish, I probably could've eaten one too myself rather than splitting it between two.

This is definitely a "local" restaurant though, Which seemed to be a poisoned chalice; a family who knew the staff repeatedly distracted them over the smallest of things (i.e. grabbing chilli oil that was 3ft aware from them, stopping them to make jokes), and a woman who interrupted a sever mid-order to ask for the staff to make squeeze them in as a walk-in (which resulted in them having to physically rearrange tables and some diners to accommodate them). I only mention this because they could either do with an extra pair of hands because all these distractions at peak time resulted in us (and others) waiting ages to order (while sat on dirty tables), with a long queue forming outside. That's probably the only solution as the regulars are unlikely to show a bit of empathy to let...

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. First, my jacket was stolen while I was dining, even though it was hung on the hooks provided for customers. When I raised this with the management, they refused to take any responsibility and stated, “In this country, no establishment takes responsibility for people’s belongings.” This response was dismissive and felt inappropriate, as businesses are legally accountable for belongings left in designated areas like the hooks they provided. It seemed like an attempt to avoid their clear responsibility.

Secondly, the food was far from acceptable. The pizza dough wasn’t even proper pizza dough—it felt more like a flatbread with toppings. For the price I expected much better quality. The restaurant gives the impression of being authentically Italian, but this is not the case. The owner even admitted to using the nickname “Alberto” to appear more Italian, despite not being Italian himself, and none of the staff appeared to be Italian either.

Despite my efforts to resolve the matter amicably, the management refused to take responsibility and left me to deal with the consequences of the theft on my own.

I would not recommend this place due to the poor food quality, misleading branding, and complete lack of responsibility or care for...

Went there for the first time with a friend and was treated exceptionally well by the server. Attentive when we arrived provided bread balsamic olive oil. Food was delicious and again service was great. returning two weeks later with my son, service was below average. The server was disinterested not happy or seemed not happy with doing the job from the look on his face. It was busy so I appreciate the server couldn’t be as attentive however this translated into the food being literally thrown on the table and then no contact whatsoever thereafter. To add insult to injury, was then told that could only pay by cash and stupidly only had Apple Pay. Was told I could go to the newsagents next door to withdraw cash Which had a charge of 99p to withdraw money. There is no sign on the website that this business only takes cash nor a sign on the window. May return for the food, but for the service definitely would recommend against. Have to add the server that served when we first visited was not the serve server from the second visit. It’s a lovely restaurant, but the service when it’s busy really...

The food was absolutely delicious. However, the service from one of the staff members was terrible. First, I was told that only cash payments were accepted. When I said I only had a card, the staff insisted several times—almost demanding—that I go to the nearby ATM to withdraw cash. For about 10 minutes, he kept raising his voice at me, which made me very uncomfortable. Finally, what seemed to be the owner came over, had a brief conversation, and then allowed me to pay by card. Secondly, while I was enjoying my meal with a beer, the same staff member repeatedly pressured me to order a whiskey shot. Even after I declined multiple times, he kept insisting. As an Asian customer, I am not sure if this was a case of discrimination, but I certainly felt very unwelcome. That being said, the food itself was excellent. For reference, I dined here on the evening of August 30, 2025, and the staff member in question was a shorter man working at the time.

Wonderful pizza and friendly staff make for, in my view, the best Italian in London. The owner (Gigi) is from Sardinia and has a wide range of dishes to suit different occasions or budgets. With some tasty antipasti (fried calamari are amazing!), pasta (lasagna to die for!) and pizza (parmigiana is my go to) they also cater for all tastes. There are plenty of vegetarian options and now a good selection for vegans too. The have beer on tap (Moretti) and decent wines as well as a selection of soft drinks. The tiramisu is not on the menu but show stopping and an absolute must. All at reasonable prices and typically with a limoncello on the house (unless you have been really annoying!). They do get very busy and don’t have much space (perhaps 10 tables in and 5 out?) but definitely worth the wait or a special visit. When you do go make sure you take cash as they are cash only (but the kebab shop up the road has a cash machine).

Really cool place for pizzas. When you see Italians dinning at an Italian restaurant, that’s a good sign. Gone many times and will go back. Food is well prepared, fast service and decent prices. Last time we had the calamari a la romana, pizza and a focaccia. All of them were tasty and freshly prepared. Also a bottle of spicy oil (prepared in house) came in with the food. The service was pretty good. Missing the atmosphere bits, to be fair it isn’t the most comfortable place and it’s in the not best looking street of London. Will eventually come back. No card payments.
