I recently dined at London's Pride, the restaurant located at Heathrow Airport. Upon arrival, I inquired with the manager about their ability to accommodate food allergies (gluten and dairy). The manager consulted with the kitchen staff and assured me that they would take extra precautions to cater to my dietary needs. Encouraged by this, I decided to order a simple meal consisting of steak, French fries, and a tomato. While observing the kitchen's food preparation process, I noticed that the chef was using the same multi-server serving tongs for handling various dishes, such as French fries, fried fish, burger meat, and vegetables. Despite my order being allergy-specific, the chef seemed to overlook the need for separate utensils or additional cleaning measures. This raised concerns for me, as I was hoping for a higher level of attention given my dietary restrictions. When my order was eventually served, I inquired with the waiter about the utensils used in food preparation. The waiter consulted the chef, who claimed that everything had been properly cleaned. However, I had witnessed the entire process and had even taken pictures and a video as evidence. The chef then took my concerns seriously, consulted with a colleague, and prepared a new plate with fresh utensils. Unfortunately, this incident resulted in me falling ill within a couple of hours. I felt deeply disappointed by the experience. It made me question how a restaurant that proudly bears the name London's Pride could overlook such a crucial aspect of customer care. The chef's behavior and approach to food handling were far from what one would expect from someone in his position. Reflecting on the situation, I believe that such a restaurant should uphold the highest standards when it comes to customer safety, especially for those with allergies. If I were the owner or manager, I would certainly reassess and reinforce the allergy protocol to ensure a more responsible approach to food preparation. I regret to say that based on my experience, I cannot recommend dining at London's Pride, particularly if you have dietary restrictions or allergies. The lack of proper attention to these matters is concerning and suggests a disregard for customer well-being. The manager replied they would follow up an come back, but nothing happened. Be careful don’t eat there if you have allergies! UPDATE the manager send an email and asked for more information because he want to follow up but they never replied. UPDATE so I visit the restaurant again and they have not changed their procedures how bad is that?!

Nice design. Service at the bar was polite and fast. Service at the entrance was one of the worst I experienced at London Heathrow Airport. My first try : Trying to get a decent table for lunch, not very crowded and seeing plenty of empty tables, I was still forced to either go for a tiny table in the corner. When I explained that I would like to sit on one of the other tables or look for another place to have lunch, this didn't seem of importance and the tiny table was still offered as the only option. So I went to "the gorgeous kitchen" just next to the "london's pride" and had a nice extensive three course lunch at the gorgeous kitchen at a nice big table (also at it was not very crowded over there too). I thought to give the "London's Pride" a second chance and have a coffee after lunch. Maybe it was bad luck the first time. Unfortunately it wasn't. Still a lot of nice empty tables. When I asked if I can sit at one of these I, this wasn't possible. As a single person I cannot sit at one of the available tables for four. When I did ask where I could sit the waitress pointed in the direction of some crowded tables. And when I did ask where exactly she did accompany a few steps (thank you for that) and realized, that there was no place available where she directed me. Unfortunately she found another small table. So I am now sitting here with my coffee at this small table and "enjoying" the view of some bigger empty tables ;-). I don't have a problem to sit at a small table if a restaurant is crowded and understand that restaurants want to keep bigger tables for bigger groups. But if there are several bigger tables available and the place is not too crowded, I don't get the point. Or at least hope to get some feedback or explanation, especially when I do clearly that that I want to spend some money and time here at the london's pride. Clearly got the impression that the two people at the entrance didn't care a lot that I actually wanted to be their customer. Not sure if I will give it third try next time I'm at London Heathrow Airport. UPDATE - Appreciate the feedback from Chris and do agree. I would understood that I may have to move away from a larger table in the event of all family tables being occupied. As proposed, I will make direct contact in advance next time I am in London and have the chance to stop by. With the additional information and the customer friendly response to me, I have already changed the rating of my review. Looking forward to my next experience with "London's Pride". Thanks Henning

Ah, Heathrow Airport's London's Pride—a haven for weary travellers seeking a pint before facing the airborne sardine can experience. Situated in Terminal 2, it's a quintessential British pub, offering a slice of home amidst the chaos of international departures. Yes, the prices are steeper than the White Cliffs of Dover, but that's par for the course in airport territory. A couple of pints here might set you back more than a round at your local, but consider it a departure tax for avoiding the dubious allure of lukewarm airplane lager. The atmosphere is a pleasant surprise—far from the sterile, duty-free purgatory you might expect. It's a convivial spot where I found myself in amiable conversation with fellow travellers, each sharing tales of delayed flights and the universal quest for a decent meal at 30,000 feet. The staff are efficient, navigating the ebb and flow of transient patrons with the precision of a Heathrow air traffic controller. The food is standard pub fare—think fish and chips, burgers, and the like. It's not going to win any Michelin stars, but it does the job of staving off hunger before you're subjected to the culinary lottery of in-flight meals. In comparison to some of the establishments I've frequented in Thailand, London's Pride offers a comforting, if not slightly overpriced, British pub experience. It's akin to finding a familiar old jumper in a sea of unfamiliar attire—reassuring and just what you need before a long journey. Overall, London's Pride serves its purpose well. It's a decent spot to relax with a pint and some hearty grub before your flight. I’d rate it a solid 73 out of 92.

Worst airport restaurant experience ever.

I chose this location instead of Big Smoke Taphouse for my wife and two kids based on the kids eat free advertisement at the entrance.

It was just before 11am, so the greeter asked if anyone would be seeking breakfast to which I said at least one would. I was actually impressed with this accommodation.

However upon ordering, our waitress told us breakfast was no longer available to myself or wife on the regular menu. Very strange position considering they offer all day breakfast dishes. So my wife and I ordered from the regular menu. For some reason however the kids were allowed to breakfast items ?

I ordered some Queen Chicken something or other that claimed to be Freddy Mercury’s favourite. I think Fred would be rolling in his grave. Very bland and poor quality chicken.

My wife ordered some sort of chicken pasta. The chicken was spongy and seemed uncooked in places. The dish was overall bland.

The kids ordered potato dishes that were pretty hard to screw up. They didn’t complain or praise.

The waitress was largely absentee. When she was present she seemed checked out and unable to answer questions. When she’d leave I would just watch her aimlessly hang out at a waiters station, looking around, but doing nothing.

When bill time came the kids were charged for their meals. The waitress explained the things the kids ordered were not included in the kids eating free. The waitress went to the manager who was a bearded and tattooed fellow who had been talking on a cell phone and stomping around for the entire time we were there. He barely even acknowledged her, and she came back with the same position.

I simply said we were not paying, and to bring the manager. She left again and helplessly followed around the manger still on his cell phone stomping around the restaurant uselessly. This continued for almost 10 minutes, and at this point I’m needing to leave for my flight. I waved over the waitress again and told her I needed the bill without the two kids charged as advertised or I would simply be leaving without paying.

She again went to the manager, who was still talking on his cell phone, and not even looking at our table. Eventually she came back with the appropriate bill, we paid cash and left, with the heroic manager still adverting his gaze and having his very important phone conversation.

All of this foolishness was in front of the kids who thought they had done something wrong .

The bill itself for two people was outrageously over $100.00 Canadian for two dishes. We drank water, the kids juice which I think were charged.

Steer clear...
