I recently had a really bad experience at the MADRAS RESTAURANT last week and I have to say it was one of the worst experiences ever. I ordered a chicken vindaloo and rice for takeaway, but to my horror, I discovered a dead fly in my food when I was halfway through eating. I got so grossed out that I immediately threw the food away without taking a picture, which turned out to be a mistake.

I decided to go back to the restaurant today because I happened to be in the area and wanted to express my concerns. I told the lady at the reception that I wasn't interested in getting a refund, but I was worried about the health and safety issues. What if I got sick from eating their food, or worse, what if other people got sick? However, instead of understanding my concerns, the receptionist was incredibly rude and kept insisting that I show them proof. I explained that I didn't take a photo, and I wasn't asking for my money back either. I just wanted to prevent this from happening to other customers. But she didn't seem to care at all.

The receptionist's attitude was unprofessional and uncaring. She didn't even say sorry once. When I told her I was going to take a video to show how little they cared, she said I wasn't allowed to do that. I accepted that, but I couldn't help but point out that it's also not allowed to put dead flies in people's food. Her response was that they couldn't do anything about it and that she would inform her boss. She also mentioned that I should have come to the restaurant immediately with the food, but obviously I didn’t as I don't live nearby and I also had thrown the food away.

It was really disappointing to see how unprofessional and unconcerned the staff at the restaurant were. They didn't seem to care about the safety of their customers or take the issue seriously. Even though the restaurant was often busy, with many people enjoying their meals there, I can't help but worry about the potential risks. I understand it's a small business, but that's no excuse for allowing something like this to happen.

I hope that by sharing my experience, it serves as a warning to the management. Customers expect to be treated with respect and care, especially when it comes to matters of health and safety. Unfortunately, my experience there fell far short of those expectations.

I strongly advise potential customers to think twice before dining at this place because the lack of concern for food safety and the unprofessional behaviour of the staff are...

Seriously one to avoid. Ah, we thought, fish curries, South Indian (Sri Lankan) spices. Nothing like it. My Goan fish curry was appalling. I began to wonder if could have done better by tipping DIY curry sauce into a tin of pilchards, until it dawned on me that was actually what I was eating. You know when you've a couple of fish from the tin which left in the fridge have gone hard? Those. With the bones. Lots of them. My friend's prawn curry had the same sauce as mine (not at all as described on the menu) with rubbery prawns. £5 worth of spinach had some spices, sure, but it was half diced onion with a ton of salt. The only dish we ate without physical distress was the starter - chickpeas. Cold, out of a tin, mixed with a smattering of flavoured veg. Hard to get wrong. Lemon rice didn't taste of lemon - God knows what was in it to make it yellow. The toilet was filthy. Later I had painful indigestion. All this for £33! Don't eat here. Tell your friends not to eat here....

I had a very bad experience today here. The staff misbehaved with us when we ordered food, we just asked if the paratha was freshly baked as there was a past experience from them selling old food, the lady answered over the phone that parathas were cooked and brought to the shop in the morning and they heat them and sell all day. We only ordered beef fry and when we went to collect there was another staff who behaved rude and didn’t like what we enquired. After all it’s the consumers right to know how and when a food is prepared.

Now the next thing is the beef we ordered. It was so pathetic, was full of bones and very few pieces filled with onion. I really don’t understand how this restaurant keeps up by selling such low quality food. It’s to be thought about seriously. Just leaving this review to let people know the...

Absolutely Disgusted with the Hygeine! If I could I would give it a 0! We received our food ... & FOUND A COCKROACH INSIDE OUR CURRY! and on top of that it was packaged in a unhygienic way .. inside the food container it was wrapped in clingfilm and over the actual food. When we contacted the restaurant, we was told to bring the food back to prove it, and when we did ... they didn’t care and gave us £6 back out of the £30 we spent! I suggest NO ONE to buy food from here!! I’ve had many take aways in my life .... and never experienced something so disgusting! 🤮🤢
