The Nickel Bar in London proved to be the ideal setting for a morning coffee business meeting. Nestled in a bustling corner of the city, this charming establishment exudes a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere that is conducive to productive discussions.
Upon entering, I was greeted warmly by the attentive staff who promptly seated me in a comfortable and well-appointed area. Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe arrived early on NYE, like 11.30am. Cecconi's was only serving lunch from 12pm so we decided to get a drink at Nickel Bar. We were probably the only ones who started early, and also the only customers at that point of time so I guess the attention was undivided. We were treated very nicely, bartender was exceptionally friendly, we enjoyed our drinks so really no complains at all. The bar itself is beautiful - the interior design of the entire hotel is just beautiful.
The only issue we have is they require us to pay immediately - it made me feel like I was in a typical pub where you pay when your drink is ready. I didn't think this was necessary as it was still early in the morning. The only way to keep the tap running is to hold a credit card which I didn't think it was necessary especially in a hotel, a luxurious hotel like this. We were sitting at the bar and we were not going to runaway anyway, what is the problem... We also mentioned that we were only sitting here for a drink since we have already booked for lunch at Cecconi's. I guess this has nothing to do with the staff, just the issue with their policy. Could be more...

The Nickel Stage is the literal centrepiece of the stunning venue; but donāt be intimidated as you step inside of door, the atmosphere and staff are very welcoming. Casual smiles and lively jazz and are the order of the day.
Originally the Midlands Bank HQ this building opened in 1924, but had stood abandoned for over a decade before Ā£200 million of investment saw it reopen in 2017 as The Ned Hotel and its magical Nickel Bar. For those curious, the name comes from the buildingās original designer Sir Edwin āNedā Lutyens.
Not many people think of the Bank area when picking a venue to enjoy dinner, cocktails and swing dance the evening away, but trust me this is the place. And if no one is on the dance floor yet, just step up and others will soon follow.
Bookings not required and guests under 18 can enjoy the venue until 8pm. Donāt miss the original bank vault bar downstairs.
