Located in the heart of Londonâs financial district, 1 Lombard Street serves up an elegant dining experience in a setting that exudes classic charm and sophistication. The venue combines a brasserie, bar, and fine-dining restaurant, making it a versatile spot for everything from business lunches to celebratory dinners.
We started with the game pùté, which arrived as a beautifully plated dish that set a high bar for the rest of the meal. The pùté was incredibly smooth and richly flavored, capturing the earthy, robust notes characteristic of well-prepared game. It paired well with the accompanying toasted thin bread, and the addition of a tangy chutney brought the dish together, balancing out the richness with a hint of acidity.
The main course was a fillet of beefâtender, perfectly cooked, and seasoned to perfection. Complemented by seasonal vegetables, it was everything you could hope for in a quality beef fillet. The meat practically melted in the mouth, and the portion size felt just rightâsubstantial but not overwhelming.
For dessert, the crÚme brûlée was a standout. The top layer cracked with the perfect crunch, giving way to a creamy, custard-like interior. It was silky smooth and expertly balanced in sweetness, providing a satisfying and classic end to the meal.
A beautiful red Bordeaux was the ideal pairing for the entire experience, enhancing each course with its deep, layered notes of dark fruit and subtle tannins. The wine list at 1 Lombard Street is extensive, offering a broad selection that caters to various tastes and price points.
Overall, 1 Lombard Street offers an elevated dining experience that is refined without feeling overly formal. Service was attentive and knowledgeable, striking the perfect balance of friendliness and professionalism. For those seeking a memorable meal in a beautiful setting with exceptional dishes like the game pùté, fillet of beef, and crÚme brûlée, 1 Lombard Street is a top...

Read moreI came here last week (for the first time) with family and friends. It was flagged (in the reservation) that I was vegan.
As expected, the location, ambiance and decor of the place was fantastic. The food, itself, was very good (although very limited for vegans).
Given the price of this restaurant, I was disappointed in a few aspects including the service. I appreciate that the staff are busy but the service was all over the place. The waitress who looked after us was not helpful or friendly and didn't really make us feel at ease. I also made it clear that I was vegan but was then offered a meal with an egg (the staff were apologetic though but not sure how this happened). We asked for sparking water which they did not have (first world problems I know but for that price we paid, this should be available).
I was not impressed at what we were charged for. For example, we were also offered "complementary chocolates" which we ended up being charged for; the price is not the issue but rather the principle was wrong as we were told they were complementary. Another point is that we were charged for complementary bread which wasn't even that tasty and was accompanied by barely any butter (which wasn't appropriate for me as a vegan anyway and I was not offered any substitute). Bread for the table usually comes free in restaurants.
Given how expensive this place is (comparable to certain Michelin star restaurants), I was disappointed and embarrassed at times as we brought family and friends from overseas to this place (as I wanted them to have the best experience possible which didn't happen here). Just to be clear, this place is not bad at all but it's absolutely not worth the price in my opinion. I have no intention of revisting this place and do not...
