The Old Kings Head is a cozy and welcoming pub located just a block away from the tube station. We stumbled upon it during peak hours when the underground was packed, and we're glad we did. The atmosphere is friendly, and the staff is accommodating, making it a great place to unwind after a long day.

We enjoyed a couple of pints of some fantastic local brews, and we were impressed with the selection. The beers were well-maintained and had a great taste, making for a perfect evening of drinks. The prices were also very reasonable, and we appreciated the value for money.

The only downside was the slight mice problem. However, it was not enough to ruin the night, and the staff seemed to be taking care of the issue. We enjoyed our time at The Old Kings Head and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly and laid-back atmosphere.

In conclusion, The Old Kings Head is a great pub that provides a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The local brews are fantastic, and the prices are reasonable. Despite the slight mice problem, the staff seemed to be taking care of it, and it did not detract from our overall experience. If you're in the area, it's definitely...

If you’re after a proper London pub that still feels authentic — no gimmicks, no inflated prices, no tourist gloss — The Old King’s Head is the one. Tucked away down King’s Head Yard, just off Borough High Street, it’s easy to miss, but once you find it, you’ll understand why locals guard it so fondly. The Old King’s Head has that rare mix of history and heart. It’s small, warm, and a little rough around the edges — in the best possible way. The wood-panelled walls, the friendly banter, the hum of conversation — it all feels like London as it used to be. You’ll find everyone here: city workers unwinding after hours, regulars who’ve been coming for decades, and curious newcomers who just stumbled across it.

If you’re visiting during Happy Hour, expect a lively buzz — the kind that makes you want to stay for “just one more.” And even outside those hours, the pub’s welcoming atmosphere...

Lovely old fashioned pub elegant decor with lots of quirky antiquities on the walls. Nice selection of beers and outside smoking area. I landed on my feet here was short of the £5 minimum for cards no bother £4.80 was fine. Forgot to mention great background music CDs of pleasant baladic songs with words- a concept unheard of elsewhere. Anyways only fair I enjoy the pleasant almosphere for a bit longer so I trotted up for another 'proper job' hit the £5 mark with some peanuts and the generosity and friendliness knows no limits here, a function upstairs didn't touch their magnificent gourmet oriental buffet grill up, so help myself all laid out on the bar. Nice to be nice but real genuine lovely people here, 100% recommended,

oh and they have a function room with pool table and darts upstairs and do a...

We stumbled upon The Old King’s Head by chance when we were looking for a place to get some fish and chips. It turned out that a group of Millwall supporters were gathered downstairs, which was a funny coincidence because I’m a big Millwall fan myself and have often came to London from Holland to go to their matches. The owner kindly guided us upstairs so we could have a quiet meal, and later even gave me a cool Millwall sign to take home. The food was really good, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the people that work there are really friendly too. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to next time we visit London, highly recommended!

This is an old-school traditional pub down just across from Borough Markets. There is a small indoor seating area so be ready to stand or have your drinks outside if busy. Nice environs, a fun place to grab a drink in the area. Stopped here for a quick lunch recently, drinks were just fine. Didn't care much for the fish and chips however. Fish was quite tired, dry and chewy, not a very nice fillet. Served with French fries instead of proper chips as well. On the whole, not a great fish and chips order. Would give it a pass next time and just enjoy a pint or two at what is otherwise a quaint little pub in the London Bridge area.
