M&S Simply Food — Local services in London

Just bought a mixed fruit sundae reduced price as it was today’s date, came back literally after few minutes as I started eating it on the go. telling them it tasted funny and if I can exchange it. Basically telling them politely that they just sold me out of date sundae and all i want is to get another one so I can finally eat it without risking food poisoning. This young guy telling me with attitude that they can’t exchange it because it is today’s date and that is the reason why it tastes like it does…. ! What a joke. Instead I would appreciate if he told me okay, let’s exchange it for you or get a refund and investigate why it tasted funny, perhaps there is an issue with a product meaning it need to have shorter shelf date or something. Maybe it is happening with the same product in other stores. Basically I wasn’t happy because I only tasted a little bit so it wasn’t like I came back with an empty pot asking for a refund. So disappointed with some staff behaving like it’s going from their own wages. What he gained is just upset customer and having a products on the shelves that are running out of date sooner than their expiry date. 😡😡😡😡 just making me feel like an idiot who is trying to cause a drama or something. If I could do 0 it would be . Atrocious service from the lady by the self service. Totally ignorant, rude and seemed super annoyed to be even there . When I finally got her attention she made an excuse ,she is waiting for someone to speak to in the way that she is doing me a favour to help me with not working barcode in the till.Guess what I tried to scan the item again and same story item not found so I had to call her again and she started laughing in very pathetic way.A told her I don’t appreciate her attitude when I am trying to get help only for being told she doesn’t appreciate me ?why on the earth would you employ somebody with so terrible attitude? her reaction left me in complete shock. I bought some groceries here. I would like to share my view as a foreigner to the city and have lived few weeks in the area. Firstly, M&S milk is very good in taste compared to the one from Sainsbury's. It's very delicious. It's a little bit more expensive (like £0.5 more expensive per bottle), but it's worth it. Secondly, M&S Food sells British crips and some pastries that are not sold at nearby Sainsbury's or Tesco. It feels more 'British' in my eyes as a foreigner. Thirdly, I find that the packaging of food at M&S Food is better and more eye catching.
