New Years Day. Excellent location for this Wetherspoons pub. Tower Bridge is only minutes away and obviously a tourist area without any doubt. Very mild day and was actually hot from walking from the Embankment tube station. Went into The Pommelers Rest pub and even though it was busy I found a nice little cubicle to sit in. Because it was New Years day I decided not to drink beer but order something different. I went for a whole bottle of Broadwood's Folly a sparkling wine from England and priced only at £19.99. Unfortunately when the Broadwood's Folly where was no ice bucket with it to keep the sparkling wine cold. I ask the staff for one and she said they don't do ice buckets anymore, amazing crazy I thought. Anyhow she improvised buy using a water jug filled with ice for the sparkling wine. Please see photograph. Anyhow it was not perfect and looked very silly but it did help the wine to stay chilled while drinking it. Overall and once again a very decent Wetherspoons pub in a very interesting part of London. Service from the staff was fantastic and friendly too. Toilets very clean and table tops also clean. Highly recommended this pub as their prices are the best compared to other pub chains in this part of London.

This Weatherspoon's pub is beautiful! There is a view of Tower Bridge right outside the door. It's large, clean and reasonably priced. There is a great selection on their menu. The staff is super friendly and always had a smile. The restrooms are downstairs and are very roomy. There is a handicap entrance on the main floor accessible by a key from staff. It is a great place for family dining. The food was delicious. I had the nachos. They took a bit long and one of the staff wasn't happy at the length of time (26 minutes). She said that amount of time for nachos is not on, so she refunded my money and offered a free drink as well. We were really impressed with that. We weren't even thinking about that. I just really wanted my nachos, so thank you Pommelers staff! That made my day! Definitely give this place a go when you are near Tower Bridge!

I always had the fantasy of trying a real English pub in England. Last time I came here it wasn’t too good, but this place was amazing! The chicken tikka massala was juicy with a nice texture and amazingly flavorful sauce! The “bangers” were good as well and matched perfectly with a large pint. Refill hot chocolate warmed my soul after a day exploring London and the tower bridge just a couple of blocks from there. The only reason why this place have 4 stars is because the first server was a little bit rude when we just entered, probably because we are foreigners. But after that we just change the server to one of the guys in the bar and everything was amazing. For the price, location, the cultural impact and the flavor I highly recommend this place

Didn't want to leave London without some fish and chips. This was the place we selected right after the Tower Bridge visit. The lad cleaning tables when we entered was great, said we could sit anywhere. The bathroom was a maze of doors downstairs but easily navigated. Once you're ready to order you go to the bar with the table number and place it. The food came quickly and pleasantly. I realised that fish and chips is really fried batter and chips. The atmosphere in the place was nice, lively...a pub/restaurant feel. The worst part of the experience and the main driver for the rating was the dirty utensils. Quality is a process and slacking this badly here means others quality issues exist in a big way.

Stayed in the premier inn just down the Rd and on our first morning people were queuing out of the door for breakfast so decided to get a refund and go somewhere else. Went into the Pommelers Rest and had a lovely breakfast took less than 10 minutes was really nice and great value. When going back to the hotel decided to cancel breakfast for the next day also and go back to the Pommelers Rest where the breakfast was lovely again, really nice pub also with friendly welcoming staff and a great atmosphere. Will be visiting this area again in future as it's really well situated and will definitely be visiting the Pommelers Rest again.

Such a unique location! A bit loud, but also its a Friday night and dinner time, that's to be expected! We ordered the 3 small plates for £12 special - the nachos, garlic pizza, and chili chips - plus a small order of onion rings. Everything was delicious and in large portions. The only complaints we had were that there are no large glasses for water (we don't drink alcohol) and the onion rings were old, soggy, and tepid - but they were just over £1, so not very upset. Would definitely come here again & will reccomend it to friends!
