The Racehorse — Restaurant in London

I’m not usually a pub person but came across this pub in my local area (Carshalton) which has around 10 pubs and I can honestly say this is by far my favourite one. Has the football on regularly and is such a chilled vibe. It is dog friendly and family-friendly as well with an amazing garden.

I now find myself going here once a week with friends because of the amazing service and incredible food. (Looking forward to the new menu this week)

I also picked this venue for my mothers birthday they did not charge me to use the venue but asked for a deposit for the food orders. Nicol who helped me with the food menu was amazing and so loving to my godchildren. We had 25 people here for a sit-down dinner and it went perfectly! Everyone complimented the food and the landlady also helped with the decorations which was sweet of her. 25 of us came to 253 pounds for amazing food and amazing service. I couldn’t recommend this place more.

The bar staff are amazingly friendly and always talkative.

We went in here on a Saturday lunchtime for a meal. We walked past the bar and got no acknowledgement from the barmaid at all. So we sat down at a table and I went to the bar to get a menu and was very abruptly told "we don't serve food" so I replied "I thought I saw a sign outside for Sunday lunch offer" and again got a very blunt reply "we don't do food on Saturday" so I said ok but was not impressed at all by a complete lack of politeness or service. On the way out we noticed a sign right next to the Sunday lunch offer saying "Food served Tuesday to Sunday". What with the atrocious service and completely wrong sign we certainly won't be...

Sign outside said Lunch Special but after the group entered the pub were informed that due to the football coverage no food would be served until the late afternoon. Why put the board up outside then? Two of our group stayed as we wanted tea and not to eat and so ordered tea. This was a largish cup with a teabag and hot water with a small milk jug to share between us and we were charged £3 each! While we were there a few other disappointed people came in for lunch and were informed that there wasn't any at the present time The pub was neat and clean with good music in the background.
