The Woodman — Restaurant in London

Not good i'm afraid, there's so many good pubs in Carshalton, don't waste your time here. Service is slow, when the staff aren't seeing people to their table they dissappear inside, the glasses were dirty. I ordered food from a board outside and when it came I was over charged, when I asked why I was over charged I was told that the offer was for the euros, despite it saying nothing about that on it. Even though football was starting a couple of hours later I had allready paid and this couldn't be fixed and was told ' it couldn't be helped', by some miracle the board disappeared after this, burger and chips was served with no cutlery, thats fine its finger food isn't it? guess what, no napkins either. Gin and tonic comes to the table, no offer of ice in it, no offer of a straw. Not once when i was charged for somthing was i told the price. The kids doing the running round are nice enough, its obvious the problems lie with whoever is running it. Like I said at the start, there's so many nice pubs in Carshalton, don't bother wasting...

Been a few times before and had a good time. Knowing it was a bit last minute, rang up on the off chance, saying I knew it was a bit last minute, that they might have one space. Lady on the phone immediately responded with "really" under her breath and asked if it was for the football; replied: "yes if possible, please."

Offered a place upstairs without asking if myself and my mate would be same household. Offered outside aswell and given about 5 seconds to think before getting told off for even asking to book close to the time. Would have have happily gone outside, but decided to not go with either because of the previous sentence. In response, I was told "beggars can't be choosers".

Great food, very fresh, tasty and of great value. Ordered 4 mains and 5 drinks for £50 only. Loved the garlic bread, lamb shank, Mac n cheese and the cheesy chips. The wrongly delivered (and taken back in a minute) meatball and nachos looked stunning as well. Inside the space is quite limited but they managed to put seatings quite nicely. Upstairs function room for party only. Garden seating is quite big but with the current weather even with overhead heating you still need to near coat and hat. Staff and nice and helpful but I think a bit understaff in the kitchen. The only star missing has to go for the waiting time-we ordered at 15:30 and food didn’t come until 16:30. And the Sunday roast was gone by the time we ordered. Would love to try that...
