London Pub MapLondon Pub Map
🚇 South Ealing 🍺 £7.10 Cruzcampo The Rose & Crown is located on a quiet side street opposite St Mary’s Church in South Ealing, West London. The nearest tube station is South Ealing. The site of the pub is believed be the site of a 17th century coaching inn called The Oliver Cromwell. By 1823, the pub was described as “the first inn on the road from Brentford”. This spacious two-bar pub blends traditional decor with stylish contemporary touches. The main bar, on the left, features a long servery that runs the length of the bar. It starts narrow at the entrance before opening into a seating area at the back. To the right of the entrance is a cosy bar with traditional tables, chairs, and a period fireplace. Just off the main bar is a dining area which is flooded with light from overhead atriums. Throughout, the pub’s decor combines boarded and parquet floors with panelled, wallpapered, and boldly coloured walls, comfortable seating, and walls adorned with historic photos and mirrors. At the rear lies a large beer garden with covered areas and plenty of benches. This Fuller’s pub offers a familiar selection of beers, a couple of craft options, and four cask ales including Fuller’s ESB. I opted for a Cruzcampo — an excellent pint, though the price was on the high side. The food menu features British pub classics, Mediterranean dishes, and Sunday roasts. I dropped in just before 2pm on a warm, overcast Saturday afternoon in August. When I arrived there were a couple of locals sat in the main bar and about a dozen or so people enjoying the beer garden. The atmosphere was really laid-back, almost like being in a village pub out in the sticks. The service was spot on too — I had a great chat with one of the management team, who took the time to tell me about the pub and even showed me an old photo of the pub. Visiting The Rose & Crown was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I loved the traditional pub decor, the beer choice will please most and the cultured imbiber and also the friendly and personable service. A very nice pub indeed. Had a fantastic time at this pub! We went as a group for Easter Sunday lunch, and it turned out to be a great experience all around. The service was genuinely warm and welcoming—one of those places where you immediately feel comfortable. I tried their Sunday roast, and it was actually my first ever roast. Even with my palate, which isn’t exactly used to traditional roasts, I found it genuinely delicious. The flavors were rich without being overwhelming, and everything was cooked just right. One thing I really loved was the indoor seating area—it had such great natural light that it felt like you were almost sitting outdoors. It made the atmosphere so lively and refreshing, adding to the whole experience. They also have a solid selection of beers and ciders, which paired perfectly with the meal. Good drinks, great food, and very good service—can’t really ask for more. Definitely a place I’d happily return to when I’m in the area!

Really lovely pub, shame about the miserable staff. The young lady on bar clearly didn't want to be there and had no interest in serving me and made it seem like a real effort that she had to get up and pour a drink. What seemed to be the landlady was even worse, completely unfriendly and unapproachable. Food was a disappointment. As there were barely any people in the pub I would have expected the food to be good however when it did arrive it was luke warm and lacked any taste due to what seemed to be a lack of seasoning. The pizza looked great but tasted greasy and the bacon with the liver was so fatty and undercooked it make it inedible. Will give it another go as the venue is lovely and hopefully I just caught them on a bad day.

We walked into this pub at 6pm yesterday, in a group of 8 of us having come from a picnic. From the moment we walked in, the man working took a very plain and obvious issue with us. We had some crisps out on our table left over from our picnic, and he came over to say "We don't approve of people bringing food from outside in", which is absolutely fair enough but it was expressed extremely rudely and he did not give us an opportunity to apologise or rectify this, simply walked off. When my friend asked for a food menu, this same man said 'They're inside' then turned around and left. We were made to feel so incredibly unwelcome throughout our experience; bare in mind we spent easily £30 each so they made hundreds of pounds off us, none of us were visibly intoxicated having come from a very innocent picnic, and we were then asked to leave the establishment and told we would not be served anymore. My friend went to the bathroom and overheard the barstaff whispering (!) about us in a disparaging tone. All in all, we were so incredibly uncomfortable and hurt at this point we wanted to leave anyway. Our group consisted of one pregnant woman, two people with neurodivergencies including autism, and none of us were behaving indecently or intoxicated by any means. We feel discriminated against and deeply confused about the prejudice we experienced, especially since we used to come to this pub all the time when it was under the previous owners who were lovely. None of us will ever go back and we will be sharing our experience widely to make sure nobody else is put through such a humiliating ordeal. I went to the manager to ask why we were being told to leave, and she gave a shpeel about 'duty of care under Fullers brewery' for nobody to be too intoxicated that she had served. This was entirely ridiculous as we had been served about 3 drinks each at this point. I will re-iterate, nobody was drunk, but these staff accused us of 'acting weirdly' and wouldn't say who specifically was at fault, which again, is highly immoral discrimination potentially against those of us on the spectrum. All in all, a really unfriendly, weird, and poor quality experience. Staff seemed actively resentful for having to do their jobs and serve anything at all. Manager incompetent, staff nasty,...

I went here yesterday at 4.15pm and I was really disappointed. Just to add I have been here on several occasions in the past too.

So anyway we arrived for 4.15pm and booked a tablet in advance. Someone just pointed to our table, so we just went and sat down.

I then went to the bar and ordered one roast norfolk chicken, one beef, 1 pint of london ale and 1 gin with blood orange soda. That came to 64. something. How can that be?

Norfolk Chicken is 19.00 and Beef is £24.00 so that comes to 43.00 before any drinks. How can it be an additional 21 something for 1 pint of london ale and a gin and tonic. The bar lady didn't ask me what I wanted if single or double either and she just poured whatever in. Then proceeded to chat to her mate in a foreign language and and put my beer right down on the counter next to his, literally touching, so I then had to say, sorry which drink is mine.

I wasn't offered a receipt and just went and sat back down but I looked at the till and I should have been given my receipt. Only after I left did I think that is so expensive for those drinks.

We then went to the table someone brought over the cutlery and then after about 15 mins the food came.

I am sorry the food isn't up to par for what you charge at all! My chicken had veg that was hard, it was halve cooked. At no point did anyone come over and ask how the meal was, did we need anything else, but they did for the table opposite us and anyone else who sat down and they even had someone coming over every 15 mins asking if they wanted anymore drinks.

So when you go here, ask the price of the drinks and get a receipt. For what we paid and what we got it wasn't up to scratch.

I have been here on several occasions before too and the service is always way better, the food can't be questioned and the staff are way friendlier and just on...
