I had enjoyed ordering from this restaurant. The sushi is not bad compared to what’s available in the area and the quality of fish is likewise decent.
However for the past two deliveries I have had a subpar experience. Delays are fine; while it would be nice to receive food in the advertised timeframe, I understand it gets busy at restaurants, and I can happily enjoy sushi at a later time.
On the other hand, lying about delivery and making categorically false claims are unacceptable.
Today after my order was delayed for over an hour and the deliveroo app falsely marked the order as “delivered”, with no food and zero communication from the restaurant/driver, I got in touch with the deliveroo team. Unfortunately they couldn’t reach the restaurant, so I had to wait for confirmation of a refund; not a problem, I’ll just order from another restaurant. The second order arrived without issue. By the time I finished my meal from this second order, hours after I had placed the initial sushi co order, my food arrived. So I contact deliveroo customer support again to update them, thinking if there is no refund it would be frustrating but understandable, as the order technically arrived despite the hours of delay.
Imagine my surprise I heard sushi co claimed they delivered my order at the expected time with a call confirmation. Is this a joke? What order? What call? If such a thing took place I would not have to contact the deliveroo support team an hour later and make a separate order. I’m glad I did so, because now there is timestamped evidence that the restaurant’s claim is provably false. If you’re lying to avoid refunding an order, it would’ve been less insulting if you at least put in minimal effort in fabricating the story.
All in all, the food is alright, but given this experience I will refrain from ordering here again. Thankfully there are plenty of good options around, and certainly at this price point there are better sushi restaurants in London that also treat their customers with dignity, respect,...
Read moreSlick Branding, Shocking Service. Avoid Sushi & Co, they are expensive and stingy. Where’s my food or my money?
They might serve decent food, but the customer experience is a disaster. Hope nothing in your order goes wrong because otherwise, good luck.
After placing an order with their Canary Wharf branch, I was told they couldn’t fulfil it—yet they were unable to cancel it, and the staff had no idea how to help and hung up after telling me to cancel it myself.
After ringing back 3 times, I was told that to cancel I have to email a 3rd party instead. This is not customer service.
There’s more: • Says 40% discount, it’s actually 10% (edit: I ordered on the Sushi & Co website, which displayed the 40% coupon as accepted, but only actually discounted 14.2%. This also happened to friends.) • The amount of soy sauce they include is insulting, and when paying for more, they reduce the free plastic fish ones or forget to pack the paid container • Only one pair of chopsticks per order? Way to make us feel like we’re the wrong customer
Sushi & Co shows clear contempt for their customers. Until they overhaul their service, I strongly recommend taking your...
Read moreThe food was delivered quickly, and the value for money was fantastic considering the quality and portions. Everything was absolutely delicious, and you can tell a lot of care goes into their ingredients and preparation.
The Spicy Korean Chicken Bao were a standout. The chicken was tender, juicy, and perfectly balanced between spicy and sweet. The Crispy Prawn Bao were just as incredible, with plump, juicy prawns that were fried to perfection. And the Chicken Katsu Bao? Absolutely mouthwatering! The crispy coating on the chicken paired so well with the soft bao buns and flavorful sauces. At £12 for two, each bao was generously filled and totally worth it.
I also tried the Inari Nigiri. Four pieces of sweet tofu pockets stuffed with rice, avocado, and topped with tobiko caviar for £9. They were light, fresh, and had a nice hint of sweetness that perfectly balanced the rich toppings.
Overall, everything was spot on. The flavors were bold yet well-balanced, and the quality of the ingredients really shone through. If you’re looking for delicious, well-priced sushi and bao, this place is definitely...
