Really great location, opposite the station with 2 entrances. The tables have a QR Code enabling ordering food from the table, drinks still need to be ordered at the bar. The bar area was very crowded, and quite difficult to get the attention of bar staff, a group of men were playfighting and this was difficult to navigate. The layout in the main area of seating added to these difficulties with higher tables strewn awkwardly and no clear path of exit around the furniture. As someone with mobility issues, who uses walking aids, it wasn't ideal.

That being said, the location was clean and the decor was well maintained. The menu was very varied and detailed and the pricing was excellent. The portion sizes were generous and the food was excellently cooked.

Just round from the bar was a slightly quieter area, although there was a sporting event being shown so it was still fairly noisy. I believe there was upstairs seating, but this was not an option for myself, personally.

We visited mid-week after 8pm. I imagine a tamer crowd would have been present earlier in the day/evening.

I would recommend for the convenience of location, the food and the pricing.

I wouldn't recommend if you were looking for somewhere romantic or for a meal out with family.

While the building is at level access easing physical access, the layout would cause difficulty for those with mobility needs and I wouldn't recommend attending later in the evening with crows...

Lovely authentic olde worlde pub.Visited again on 28th September '22, table bkd for 4 o'clock. Sat at table for ages waiting for our order to be taken but noone came so after long wait we went to the bar only to be told order & pay at the bar!!!! Surely we should have been informed of this as we were shown to our table. The steak was ok but only warm, the fish was ok but batter bit too greasy and the chips was not hot, the mushy peas not of the best quality. The ham and egg dish was a bit of a disaster as the ham was served cold while eggs obviously hot as were the accompanying chips. No note on the menu that the ham was cold. Ambiance bit quiet at first but livened up as the evening progressed, so the vibe improved. Staff friendly but need better customer facing training to give that helpful welcome to us customers. I got the impression there was no management presence that afternoon. Menu's need more information re hot or cold dishes and tell us as we enter 'no table service'! The toilets were clean and well supplied. All that said I probably would return as it's a lovely authentic olde worldy pub, but I'll be looking for the highlighted areas to be vastly improved or it'll be a no return from...

We came for a classic Sunday roast, having heard many good things about it and seen it advertised outside this pub located just outside Hammersmith station. Unfortunately, nothing to write home about.

Service: We booked a table for lunch, and we had to speak to the bartender to announce our arrival as nobody welcomed us. There is nobody to take your order: you order online via QR code and have to pay in advance via credit card/apple pay etc. And are also given a request for service tip (what service?). The only moment a server came to check whether the food was OK was at the end, at which point it doesn't really matter anymore.

Food: we got the Roast sirloin of beef. Quality was ok, but nothing more: we were expecting more from such a traditional meal. Price was OK, but the quantity of meat seemed a bit lacking compared to the whole dish.

Ambience: the pub looks nice and welcoming, definitely gives you the feel of something with a lot of history.

If we were to come again, it would only be to try the famous...

I came today around 5pm to ask if they will have the Finnal Champion League. They told me "yes". Then, I asked if we can come with children (they were with me at that moment). They said "yes". I asked if the whole game and they said yes. We arrived before the second time and when we try to come in they said no because of children. Why? They told me "yes" 3 hours ago. He said "yes but upstairs". How the hell can we go upstairs if they cannot come in? *** I'm reading The Swan's reply and I'm laughing. Come on!!! Reservation next time? Why do you think we went at 5pm to ask?? To know it before the game. I don't care the excuses now, we wasted the time walking to ask at 5pm. If you say that from the first moment, when we went to ask, we would have made the reservation at that moment.

Had lunch with friends on a Monday Lunchtime. It was very quiet The decor is gorgeous, rich wooden mouldings, the Staff were nice. The food arrived quickly, I had the lentil and vegetable cottage pie which was so tasty! My friend had a pie and mash, though they accidentally forgot the gravy in the gravy boat. I had the caramel biscuit torte for dessert, which was very sweet and the coffee was very bitter. But otherwise fine. They didn't have any alternative milk - just semi skimmed, don't know if this is a permanent thing but that wasn't very vegan friendly - if you are. The female toilets needed love, the lock was broken in the one cubicle. There was no soap and the hand-dryer was broken - with no hand towels to dry your hands. Overall, nice enough experience
