On January 2nd, we had the pleasure of dining at Szechuan Kitchen, a charming little gem located at 43 South Lambeth Road, London. Nestled in a cozy setting, this restaurant offers a delightful escape into the heart of authentic Chinese cuisine.
As a food blogger, I've explored countless Chinese restaurants across London, each with its own unique offerings. However, Szechuan Kitchen truly exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by a warm ambiance that set the stage for an incredible culinary experience.
We indulged in around 12 different dishes, and I can confidently say that every single one was superbly delicious. Each plate showcased the vibrant flavors and intricate techniques that define authentic Chinese cooking. It was a challenge to pick a favorite, as every dish brought something special to the table.
The variety of flavors, textures, and aromas made for an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you’re a fan of spicy Szechuan dishes or prefer milder options, there's something for everyone at Szechuan Kitchen.
In conclusion, if you’re searching for the best authentic Chinese restaurant in London, look no further than Szechuan Kitchen. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy a true taste of China in a cozy and inviting atmosphere. This place has certainly earned a special spot on my list of favorite dining spots! Nick...
Read moreThis place (I think) is still very new to the area where there is hardly any other Chinese restaurant around. They don’t take any booking so walked in one evening and we were luckily given one of the last available tables - there were a few others behind us who needed to wait. The menu is quite huge (literally) so is quite hard to read but has pictures of each item so is helpful in deciding by the looks. It did take us quite a long time to choose the dishes due to the size of the menu but also as there were quite a few unusual looking items. Not knowing the portion sizes, we ordered 6 items and ride from steamed dumplings, starter to the main courses. The food was superb. Each dish was such a generous portion that we knew we over ordered but we managed to finish all the food between two - I think 3-4 dishes to share between 2 is more than plenty. Whelks was our favourite although every dish was perfect. Thinly sliced beef in Szechuan/chillies dish was beautiful with slowly building heat. Enoki and beed dish was also my favourite with thinly glass noodles inside. I’d definitely recommend and come...
Read moreThe service was extremely poor. The waitress was impatient from the moment we entered. When she asked if we wanted chicken with or without bones, she didn’t give us even a second to discuss, just kept rolling her eyes🙄 and impatiently asking. During the entire meal, she kept laughing with her coworkers. But when she turned to us, everything changed, always impatient. In the whole meal, we remained polite and kept smiling, until it became impossible to do so.
We felt nothing but negativity during the meal. We ate quickly, paid quickly, and left. They even charge us service fees, although here is of course no service but discrimination!!!!!!!
This was the first time my parents and I visited, and it will definitely be the last. I sincerely hope that this woman experiences the same kind of service every time in...
