The Village Tandoori — Restaurant in London

Don't be fooled by the new decoration and name. This is the same incredibly poor Indian restaurant as before.

Warning signs struck as soon as we sat down as a couple were massively overcharged. 10 minutes later, another table were complaining about the quality of food.

I have to say the middle ages waiter with grey hair was extremely friendly and welcoming but the younger waiter was awful. After ordering the duck he told me 'don't order that, it's smelly!' Not a great advert for your restaurant!

When my girlfriend's King Prawn curry arrived, I was shocked to see it had the shell and legs on, covered in a thick sauce which made it incredibly messy to eat and was a choking hazard.

We eat Indian food almost every week and have never seen a king prawn curry arrive with shell on. When we pointed this out to the older waiter, he was very happy to take it back and remove the shell for us, however the younger waiter again got angry and told us it's how it's meant to be and we should just take the legs off when they are in a scolding hot curry sauce.

I was hoping the move next door and new decor would finally give us a good restaurant in the village but unfortunately I'll have to keep The Rajdoot as my regular as this was...

Having just been there for a birthday I have to say the staff were absolutely phenomenal with their service! Everyone who was involved with our table was extremely polite and friendly. The dishes available were excellent with many to choose from which easily outclassed many other Indian restaurants I have visited. The young gentleman that mainly cared for our table was very polite and engaged with the party perfectly. Not only was the food at an outstanding quality the whole evening was completed with the team serving tonight. I would definitely go back plus I would definitely recommend everyone trying it...
